Liz I'd just like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who's been commenting, praying, thinking of us & supporting us through this horrible time. Your support made a huge difference to me, coming in from the hospital to read all the messages really gave me comfort (& usually made me cry) & it means the world that we have friends & family like you out there when times get tough... as I said, he's home not back to normal & on more medication than you can shake a stick at but that doesn't matter, he can heal here with his family now. Love you all, you're brilliant! x x

fcuk sake incy dont you go geting all sentemental its only news of a dog retiring.lolHoundog if we all had something in are yards that caught half as much as that dog we would be all happy men and women.Past few years people keep going on about seeing clips off lucas and his off spring and when clips go up there still crabbing.That dog could catch 5/5 in Jan in front off some people and and it still would not be good enough. There's lots people out there happy with there pups or young dogs out him so just leave it like that.If gorger think that's him finished who are we too judge.Say it again

the idea of an all-rounder is for it to be able to be of use in as many situations as possible aka a all-round useful useful dog, i don't need field trial standard or Waterloo cup standards just one that will make a good enough fist of it in order to be able to deliver the goods when out and about, yes all are different i have three here and one will be gone at the sight of a shotgun or rifle but the other two are fine, it also keeps the old one going out when their pace has dropped off,

with all due respect and im not saying this in a smart way but a lurcher is a running dog, if it does all the game previously mentioned and never used with a gun then imo yes, it an allrounder. A spaniel or pointer is a gun dog....... i dont ever work any lurcher with a gun and if they did it would possible be a bonus but i use a purpose bred gun dog for gun work. a german pointer is a HPR, as are most of the continental breeds, where as the english pointer isnt HPR, retrieve isnt in its title, some do retrieve, some dont, that doesnt stop them being a gun dog........ if they retrieve its a b
