Got back from Asia last weekend and been looking forward to having a craic at the ducks and geese....first bit of wind yesterday so loaded up and headed out onto the mud the tide was dropping but the westerly wind was also dropping off ...got out onto the mud there were about 100 canadas that just swam around in front of me and a few pinks took off...set up some goose deeks on a patch of grass and some duck deeks in the water ......hundreds of small skenes of 30-50 pinks were constantly flying down the coast ...new pinks heading for Montrose basin there must be around 15000 in now with skenes

My experience is most dogs will catch on plough as long as it isnt too hard , thats why Hares get off as soon as they can. Lamping hares on plough doesn't sound much fun or much of a test for the dog. surely coursing on wet heavy plough is near the ultimate test for a running dog for obvious reasons

Ive always wanted to head over the water ...I know a few lads that have been over and have had a good time and theres lads from Eire fishing on ours this week had a good craic with them last night ....get yourself up here WILF im home for a month had a shine on monday never seen so much gear ....Not much pinks in yet there late this year only around 5000 in so another 75000 to go having a craic at them tonight ...plenty of salmon about fished hard yesterday evening but not a touch so went for a stalk at dusk and dropped 2 bucks ...

I t just shows you how everyones tastes are differant I cant touch talisker or jamesons the 15 year old Dalwhinnie is ok had a bottle of that fishing a few months ago . This is a fish of a lifetime Demon....fished hard yesterday water very low and plenty of fish mostly coloured covered fish but only had one touch ...hopefully get into a few this week

Bollocks! Met a few decent lads from the top of the country right down to the south and in between that if it wasnt for the sites I wouldnt of met ....saw some decent dogs run and dug a few as well ...made a few life long friends all long the way ...had plenty of arguements .....weeded out a few messers ..even been threatened with being shot by gangsters lol and a hammer put through my skull and that was from a woman

Im still 100% undecided although im swinging more to the YES vote its just that an SNP or labour goverment is not good for the hunting ,shooting and fishing way of life . Financialy im sure Scotland can hold its own you just have to look at Norway and im positive we wont be invaded by muslims ...thats Engerlands problem ...it might be a bit of a bumpy ride to begin with but im sure it will benifit the next generation only time will tell . SCOTLAND THE BEST SMALL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD .
