I had an old track bitch about 10 year ago and it was a demon on foxes,if it had a downside it would be that you had to keep an eye on it as it would get bored when you had it out and would either pull something it shouldnt have or start battleing with one of the other dogs that was out at the time.Ive got a nice ex track bitch in now thats a game animal and is a bit more sensible.

Most small deer ive took were usually dispatched by the dog.The larger deer are a different ball game altogether.When running the Big stuff these are really dangerous to both man and the dogs.A lot of the time depending on how many dogs there is the beast are usually still standing up when you get to them.If there Stags you can take hold of the antlers while somebody else tries to get one of its front legs and topple it over.If its a hind just get it in a headlock and topple it over in the same way.When you then have the beast pinned down safely and the dogs are out of the way place the knife

As FF said you need the wind to be blowing your smell away from the direction of the Fox,otherwise it doesnt matter how good your call is you wont call it in.Always try to manouvere yourself so your downwind of the Fox when you begin to call.Sometimes when your calling a Fox it will arc round and try and get downwind of you and if it smells you it will be off.

If you go on the Cluson site you can order a replacement reflector and the 100 watt bulb to change your lamp up to a Blaser lite.You will also have to change the smaller secondary bulb as well as the Blaser lite has a 2 pin push in bulb fitted in the reflector but on the standard Clulite it has a bayonet fixing.I changed mine a few months back and its been fine.

Clusons are good I used one for years.You get a better beam with the SL 170 but the battery drains a lot quicker.Ive just got another SL170 with the variable power switch on it which lets you adjust the power of the lamp and the battery lasts a lot longer.Only gripe with the SL170 is the filter set up on them,the filter set up on the Cluson lamps are definetly better.

Just wondering has Duramitex had its recipe changed aswell.Ive used it for years but it doesnt seem to be as strong as it was.A few greyhound lads that I know also say it isnt the same stuff either.I done all me runs and kennels a while back with it and the next day there was a couple of live fleas in the kennel.This has never happened to me before.I also use Jeyes Fluid and Bleach alternatively to clean my runs.

If your out on the pull and you see a nice girl just take a note of what shes drinking.If her drink has Ice in it just walk over pour the Ice on the floor and then stamp on it.She will then ask what do you think your doing ? then just reply "now ive broke the Ice any chance of a shag"

A friend of mine over the States is having a lurcher pup sent over to him from me.Just wondering if any of you can give me any ideas as to what the requirements are to sending a pup over there.Thanks for your replies.

Had the dog straight to vets this morning when the lump burst.The vet told me that the dog has Cellulitus.The way I took it to mean was this.The dog has had the slightest of injuries which has then had a form of bacteria get in and the dogs anti bodies etc thinks the dog has a much worse injury than it actually is and this has caused the wound to react the way it has.The dog is now on antibiotics for the next 10 days and then he has to go in for an operation to have the wound and bacteria scar tissue etc cleaned out.Hopefully then the dog will be ok after this and then after a while I will be

A big lump has come up on the side of my Bullx at the rear of his rib cage and when Ive had him out this morning Ive noticed that it has burst open through the skin now.I have got him in at the vets this morning just wondering if any of you have an idea what it is ?A mate of mine thinks it has been a hematoma.Thanks for any replies.

I recently sold my Air Arms s400 in .22 calibre after having a go of a lads X2r.I suppose I fancied a change so I am now waiting for a X2r in .20 calibre to arrive.Not much between the 2 guns but the X2r is regulated so you get a higher shot count.I suppose its just whatever you feel like using.The best thing to do is try both types of gun and see what you yourself like the best.I wouldnt buy either of them tillI had tried them first.
