  1. The reason wagg is so cheap is because the protein in the meat is made up of things like birds beaks and the crap meat that isnt fit for human consumption. Pay am extra few quid and get Something like dr johns and I also stew loads of rabbit and old veg thats left over from my mums pub.
  2. Thankyou he has some good stuff on that stall I always end up treating myself to a few things
  3. Okay thanks. Do you know if there will be the stall their selling the hunting dvds and ferret boxes etc?
  4. Sounds good just gutted my dogs dislocated a toe but il be their anyway. What time does it start?

  6. I know a dog like this. Only problem in my area is that their is rabbits however fields are small and rabbits are shy. If your dog isnt straight back after a slip he will scare the rabbits off from surrounding areas. And unfortunately you see lots of rabbits but you have to work hard for them its rare to see more than 4 or 5 in 1 field.
  7. My dog did it this season I slipped him he caught the rabbit and was making progress back to me then as my dog was half way back my lamping partner slipped his big dog and to my horror mac turned and dropped the rabbit he had and caught the second. I wasnt best pleased about the situation because I was worried if he gets into a habbit of this it could lead to him hunting on trying for rabbits I havnt lamped. Thankfully on impact the first rabbits neck felt broken and was dead and it has never happened since.
  8. I agree I paid 200 for my dogs neck stitching and having some skin removed around the area. Iv changed vets since btw.
  9. thanks for that if the swelling doesnt go down or I dont see any improvements shortly I will give him a call.
  10. Thanks lads when I said a few weeks and take it from there I meant see how it is after a few weeks and think about xrays etc I wouldnt expect him back in the field. Iv been to the vets before when my lurcher dis it the first time and I only got given meds which cost quid. Where as this time iv self prescribed some from a friend. In a few week when the meds have gone through the dog if its no better I think then I will definatly see the vet.
  11. Id be grateful if any lads could share there experiences with dislocated joint knuckles toes etc on their running dogs. What the healing time was, how they rested and treated it and even how it effected their dogs in the future. The reason im asking is due to my dog injuring his toe 4 months back and last night he dislocated the same one. He did it early on in the night and I kept him on his lead for the rest of it and he was dieing for a slip so it wasnt an isue at the time. But this morning hes sore and feeling sorry for hiself. Hes had a 24hr painkiller and anti inflammatory but im worried
  12. Just get down to the local im sure the old boys in there will snap em up and put you some beer behind the bar for your troubles
  13. I wish id got the variable lamp to start with I understand where your all coming from. Iv been experimenting with allsorts of lamps lately like the cree led torches and im going to see how I get on with the filters. The reason behind it is I found the cree lamps are alright for small and I mean very small fields no bigger than a football pitch at most. And I need somthing with more range yet not anything to scare the bunnies. I also found that you didnt get a good reflection off the bunnies eyes with the cree led torches especially the higher lumen ones.
  14. Iv seen more unsociable whippet and collie x's. Other month a mate of mine walked to our local show with his bull x no lead or anything best behaved dog there and I can garuntee it takes more game than any other dog at the show that day. Iv never met a bad one but iv heard some horror stories. I think some people look for the bad in them and brush the other x's bad points under the carpet. Whoever told me start with a collie x there easier to train etc was a lier. And whoever said dont trust or get anything With bull in either because there nasty hard mouthed hard to train etc was also a lier.
  15. Hi all. A few places local that I have a quick lamp on I know are targeted regularly and iv read before that filters can help. Iv looked for the tracer they do red amber blue and green. So if anyone can help id appreciate it. What colours make bunnies less noticeable which colours the bunnies dont react to etc. Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks for the advice but anyway my mum asked the gunshop owner his thoughts and she got me an aa silencer for it for crimbo. I think all thats left now for me to get is the multi shot conversion. Iv knocked down a few squirells up to now with no problem so im as happy as larry.
  17. I had a similar problem where my dog would run around me or not come right into me with the ball or dummy. So a wise old guy I know told me to do retrieval training somewere narrow where the dig can only come to you or run the opposite direction. I started at the local snicket then progressed to the pennine trail is slightly wider then in the wood then thr open field. Got there in the end. Good luck.
  18. Very nice dog that and the pair of crocs your wearing in the photo match perfectly
  19. Hi im just after a bit of vermin control that is local to me. Im happy to shoot anything that is required and legal with an air rifle. I will respect all boundaries without question. I may even be able to swap for a day ferreting. Thanks Blake.
  20. Just had a look at the aa silencer I think that sounds the most practical option. Going to get out tomorow after a few woodies all been well just hope its not too noisy without one atm.
  21. The cars advatised on autotrader at 2200 its the only one thats silver with black bumpers and bars on the front its easy to find o there.
  22. Hi just bought the above^^ it has no silencer which is the first mod and needs a multi shot conversion adding. Could anyone recommend what silencer etc they would add? And any other slight tweeks or parts you can add to improve it? Cheers.
  23. Tbh I think they havnt got a right to shoot your dog if theres no livestock. But 99% of coppers wouldnt even look into it. Last week an ebt bit my attacked my uncles dog when his father in law was walking it and the ebt bit his hand and crushed and broke finger and required stitches. Police interviewed the owner and f****d the case off. So if your dog shouldnt be their in the first place I think they'll just shrug it off.
