thanks lads checked eggs yesterday and they've started to hatch :boogy:just hope the greeny does her job know

why why why when you think the season is off to a good start do you end up getting a big kick in the knackers. Came home yesterday to find my most prolific bullfinch hen stone cold dead on the floor,to make matters worse her clutch of 6 eggs are due to hatch this weekend. All my other bullies are at different stages so can't shift eggs under any of them,canarys have built nest but no eggs yet don't even consider the siskins so the only other birds on eggs is my pair of greenfinches ,so left with no other options 5 full greeny eggs into the bin and bully eggs placed under greeny hen.So far so g

if its dimorphic the cock will have a mask around his eyes and the hen wont.

well lads and lasses the the start of the breeding season is nearly upon us and the pain im in from all the thorn puncture wounds im getting from picking hawthorn buds is already testing my patience. good luck all :thumbs:

thinking of adding a pair of hawfinches to my bird collection,has anyone on here ever kept them ? if so what are they like to keep ie feeding,breeding etc etc any advice would be a great help lads

thanks for the thread skycat it looks like its the same problem as my dog has only it didn't bruise like the one in the picture it looked more like stretch marks then the swelling came after a couple of days.He had an unsighted run in the rain on a very muddy field but has never showed any signs of lameness even on the night it happened

the dog is ok in himself walking and running around the garden as if nothing is wrong and doesn't complain when you squeeze or rub the thigh.

came home after lamping with whippet and notice he had a rash on the inside of his thigh which over the last couple of days has turned into a large swelling has anyone else come across anything like this on their dogs before ? :hmm:

after returning home the other night I noticed that my whippet had a rash on the inside of his thigh,which over the last couple of days has developed into a large swelling.He is booked into the vets at the end of the week but I was just wondering if anyone else had come across this sort of thing.

all my bullies go in one aviary during the off season so i'll have to keep an eye on them and hope they don't start pairing up to early and with the wrong partner.
