  3. Yeah I've fallen into the trap of going a bit soft and second guessing myself, but can't afford to be like that. I think it's reasonable money by today's standards although I've never paid more than £120 for dog. First mutt cost me a fiver. I have to admit I have crosses I have more confidence in others but I had a litter for myself and both parents do more than I want so chances are the pups will be somewhere near for me at least. Went as a guest on a shoot once and an auld fella had a bull x greyhound flushing and retrieving with manners like a lord while people were giving their labs n span
  4. Being truthful I have to say that I can't guarantee any of this. Apparently the Dam has been bred down from Saluki x Greyhound type down into a more Whippety type with supposedly terrier in there at some point. Sire again supposedly has bull a few generations ago with collie x Greyhound and beddy x whippet. The truth for me is they're both smooth coated, slim nosed and under 22". Dam is good during the day still maturing with the fun of working at night and Sire is always complimented on temperament and ability, he's a smashing dog quick and obedient. Does everything from ratting and rabbiting

  8. I'm not speculating but we had most of our dogs sheeting all over the place for 5 days and my Dad's dogs vomiting all over for 3 or 4 days at the same time a bunch of us came down with illness and half of us tested positive. Makes you think
  9. I don't think Fergie will see us lift a trophy again
  10. Normally I wouldn't mind the travel it's just me temporary circumstances make it a bit awkward at the mo I would say I was more hoping to just not waste people's time saying I've got one in Cornwall. I don't have Facebook so I'd have to get someone else to look. I guess I was hoping someone on here might give me another option to a bull greyhound because locally that usually with saluki as well is all that seems to be around but I've found the joy in the smaller lurchers
  11. Evening men, I don't suppose anyone could help me out with finding a lurcher bitch pup. Am North East England looking for something within a couple of weeks but not fancying travelling miles and miles. I have the option of one to fall back expected to be 24" tts but to be honest was after a one 21" or under to go with my current dog that does a bit everything for me odd lamping mooching ratting on all terrain. Not too picky in breeding more will it do the job but probably more interesting in a little bull x or terrier x rather than a pure runner. I don't want to waste anyones time and any help
  12. They look handy I might give one a try. I find a non-retractable invaluable at times as long as your careful and don't stick it in your leg.
  13. A set of Stanley Tylon is probably the best value for money and they are good tapes. Milwaukee is the dogs dangles at the minute, but you do pay for it. 100% keep that Stanley knife even if you decide to take it apart and repaint it. I struggle to find a Stanley knife worth having these as there's too much safety going on between non-locking and self-retracting I find them a waste of time compared to a proper one.
  14. We do similar on our place, giving all sorts a try and learning as we going. Are you using the pigs and sheep to work the land for you or are they fattening up for the butcher? I have a history with all livestock but growing stuff I just can't find time to learn it. The missus sells fertilised hatching eggs off the chickens which makes a few quid more than eating eggs if you can find a customer base. People go daft for them now since all the covid stuff.
  15. I'm a lurker, just thought I'd throw my piss in the pot today. This is the closest thing I have to social media, came looking for some sense about 10 years ago.... Still don't think I found any ?
  16. 26 but everyone says I was born the wrong generation. Had an unusual upbringing and spent 99% of my time with other generations, don't get on with mine.
  17. Dunt know off the top of my head so I won't guess and maybe lie
  18. I was surprised how he turned out but Dam was beddy whippet collie and Sire bull grey whippet. Either way he's turning really handy for me on all game
  19. Hi lads I know I'm no regular contributer on this forum so don't necessarily expect much but I'll try anyway. Anyone know of any litters coming up in the North East at reasonable money, after 1 or 2 ratting and mooching Jack Russells to bring on with my other dogs but can't seem to find any with reliable working blood for normal money. Everything is at designer dog prices nowadays even the unproven lurchers fetch crazy numbers. Any help would be appreciated but I know many are in the same boats Cheers Scott
  20. Otter. That's their thing, take a big fish and eat the neck.
  21. Must admit I didn't think it was a problem it was other people making me doubt it. Looks like might be 2 new additions. Which makes 3 this year so far ?
  22. Wondering if anyone can clarify transport from Northern Ireland to England, we are looking at a couple of pups and wondering where you stand with rabies etc, I keep seeing that you should have it all in order but then contacted a ferry provider in Scotland and they said it was not a requirement and now I'm confused. Just need clarification
