  1. The dog he used was 13 years old that's what I took from it anyway lol
  2. Bred my black bitch this year she had 5 pup's lost 1 and the rest are like tazmanian devils kept 2 back myself the other 2 were given to friends the bitch is 8 years of age and semi retired from work
  3. Had almost the same experience with a bitch from very old great fell bloodlines, first 3 digs didn't put a foot wrong, we were planning future pups from her, the lot, by the end of the season the only thing she excelled at was a antagonising the rest our kennel, she had to go. Many a terrier can prove & unprove themselves between 2 & 3 years old, it's hard to know where to draw the line sometimes...... sometimes a change of hands with a dog workes wonders its a mystery to me why but it defiantly happens[/ Yes definitely.....depending on what's happening in your kennel at the time,
  4. Take a better picture [BANNED TEXT]

  7. Were did you dig these up lad old darky was looking well there what I'd give for him back at 2 years off age now.Is that a young tess beside him u wouldn't recognise her now should have put him over her at the time but hindsight a wonderful thing[/quote] I don't even remember putting these up she looks really young here what you wouldn't give to have darkie back he didnt get a rest lol didn't realise how good he was in them days you should put a pic of tess up now after 5 seasons since these were taken she has seen some dogs come and go and still have her before them all retired or not lol c
  8. I have a litter here at the minute all pups gifted to good friends but the lads came up with the idea of jaging the pups to spread the cost of rearing many hands make light work lads and it was well welcomed

  10. Were did you dig these up lad old darky was looking well there what I'd give for him back at 2 years off age now.Is that a young tess beside him u wouldn't recognise her now should have put him over her at the time but hindsight a wonderful thing
  11. I have started to use a horn this last 3 years only because I came into a couple of dogs that were already on it when I got them it saves alot of calling and I find it invaluable on a windy day it carrys far further than the voice (although I managed fine with out it for year's)each to there own I'd say
  12. I have a border collie x beagle bitch here she is 11 years old now and probably one off the best bushing dogs I have ever owned I wish I had aanother like her I run her with 6 other hounds beagle harriers and beagle terriers the bitch isnt as fast as she used to be but can still hold her own with the rest of them and is much smarter than the rest and easier worked she is fox only and wont look at a rabbit although this was always the case and she marks like a demon witch is a bonus
  13. do you no of anyone crossing them with a hound say a beagle if they are as good as you say might be a usfull cross
  14. Listen I'm not an ejit it's yours mans fault for dropping him sore but every terrier man does it from time to time so surely it was a test of the dogs determanition if the dog had of stayed and dug the stuff you would be signing its praises and rightfully so but it didn't so does that terrier lack that little bit . Aint my ego why i go digging bud ITS ALL ABOUT THE TERRIERS ! I have no ego either but he asked for an opinion and I gave mine yeah you do you egotistical prick laugh out loud
  15. In my opinion when a working terrier goes to his quarry there should be no excuse for it to leave it maybe you shouldn't have entered the dog sore but even still he walked and that is that you can lie him up and try him again he might dig 50 more but in the back of your head you will never have full faith in him . If you have any of this type you want shut of say after 15 digs and its still playing on your mind ill feed it bud I'm not saying its not worth keeping but if he walked once sore or not and he gets took into the trenches again there is a chance he will walk it could show that
  16. could be the other 2 didnt have the same experience just a thought
  17. IN my opinion a young terrier should be given a chance .But i also think it takes a terrier with lot determination and a high pray to make the grade but they should stay till dug no matter how deep the dog doesnt no how deep it is .Its alot to do with the man working the terrier that will make a good 1 you can sicken any dog as said above they aint robots although its nice to test them and see what u have when it works out well
  18. hes had more then 2 digs but failed to find on 2 apoligize [bANNED TEXT] read it wrong
