Take him out once a day some where quiet before feeding him, walk him on the lead for a while... then let him off try to recall 4-5 times if he does this give him lots of praise then take him striaght home & feed him, in doing this will encourage the dog that when he listens & does what he is told not only does he get praise he gets fed aswell. try it no promise's but it works for me everytime & not only with recall pretty much any training i wish to teach the dog... I have just brought a Bull/Whippet bitch shes 16weeks i use the same method. hope it works for you mate, be patie
  2. Source a good whippet from working lines... just my opinion, or better yet go on google & do some research about different breeds for different work, land & game mate. ATB

In my experience it can make life a little easier to take them nice & young... just as moocher said they seem to build a stronger bond with you, but thats just my opinion ive even took pups as young as 4-5weeks & bottle fed them puppy milk lol... but never again! providing you put lots of time & effort in you wont be none the wiser. But it is a decision that can only be made by the owner. ATB mate...
  4. TBH mate it can vary depending on breed & the every dog is different to the next... but be patient you will know when your dog is ready, you wouldnt send a child too do a mans work.

  8. 1 lakie x russel... & 1 bull whippet, both pups starting to bring them on. But i do have 3year old patterdale bitch working all legal quarry...

  10. Nice mate i have a 8month old lakie x russel... Just started doing bits, bushing & mooching with him... try & get a picture up if i can.
  11. take your time & do some research mate, dont rush into buying any old dog, because your have nothing but stress & a waste of time on your hands, dont get me wrong im no expert but i have had my share of no good lurchers & time wasters.
  12. Out with the boys this season... they are doing well enough, just bringing me pup on so... hopefully she will be ready next season fingers crossed

  14. On my nights out lamping i always prefer rough winds & lite drizzle mate, helps to disguise your scent. But yeah give it a go see how you get on.
  15. nice dog mate looks promising i had a saluki x bull whippet a few years back but sadley retired due to injury. Cheers bud shame about your dog yeah she was a good old bitch aswell.

  19. I have a lakeland x patterdale, bull x whippet & lakeland x plummer. but i would be willing to try out any of the working breeds.
  20. I wouldnt own & time n money on any dog that didnt earns its keep, especially all those fashion accesary breeds.
  21. I have just brought a first cross Bull Whippet bitch shes only 3months old but very intelligent & willing to please already looks promising.
