I remember him for showing us how much psychology matters in sport. At the Rumble in the Jungle, Ali got inside his head and destroyed big George. We were watching through our fingers expecting Ali to be knocked out by the immensely powerful GR. Instead George was humiliated and lay on the canvas exhausted both mentally and physically. But, fairplay,he re_ invented himself years later. Some story. One of the true greats.

I once worked with an Irish ganger in the 70s. A real Celtic man. You weren't supposed to wear club colours, it caused too much aggro A new lad joined our crew and happened to boast that he'd pissed in a poly bag ,thrown it and drenched some Celtic supporters. He also bragged he'd hit a Celtic player with a bottle. My ganger picked him up and cracked his head half a dozen times off a brick wall. He then finished his tea, told the newstart to get up and ordered us all back to work. The bloke didn't appear next day.lol

My tribal loyalties dictate I should hate the scousers . It all goes back to the Manchester Ship Canal trying to steal custom from Liverpool docks. But I like them. I was talking to a geordie and his wife at the weekend. I was taking one of my champagne socialist hotel breaks. When we spoke about the game, both he and his wife were visibly moved! Interesting you quote Norway's pension scheme. All of the oil revenue from Norway oil fields were put into a fund. They reckon they have money in it to pay social, costs for 300 years. Its worth 250000 dollars to each individual in Norway. We on the other hand, sold our oil fields for f**k all to private individuals. In fact we sold everything off. I'm going for a lie down...its best not to think deeply or google facts. You end up depressed.

If you want an example of how people are screwed in England, you don't need to look further than water. Every drop of water is measured and has to be paid for. The only other country is the world where water has been fully privatised is Chile which is not exactly known for its generosity to its citizens or its human rights. In return the water companies have presided over a system where NOT ONE river in England is now in a good state of 'health'. The water companies have habitually poured raw sewage into rivers whilst paying themselves millions in bonuses. How f****n cynical is that?

A lot of the benefits bill is made up of pensions, housing costs and universal credit. I'm a pensioner. I'm sorry for living so long lads. Let's face it a lot of money spent on housing costs goes straight into the pockets of fat cat, greedy landlords who charge crazy rents. Universal credit is often paid to people who just can't live on the minimum wage because they have children. Why are wages so low that they have to be subsidised by the state?
