  1. Yes, when the two boxers were leaning on each other and he wanted them to move away from each other he said 'stop stop stop' and then motioned with his hands for them to start boxing again. I would have expected him to say 'break' and then 'box on'??
  2. What's happened to the 'break!' command? Refs now seem to use the word 'stop' or anything else which comes into their heads. The Fury Klitscko repeatedly said 'stop stop stop'. To me that's not a legitimate command and the boxers would be within their rights to ignore it. Or is it just me?
  3. he also ducked George foreman although repeated attempts at a fight were also rejected by the Tyson camp for fear of losing to foreman Tyson's style and stature would have been made for Foreman. Foreman's power would have lifted Tyosn off his feet, the same way he lifted Frazier off his feet.
  4. I don't share the view that Tyson was a great fighter. He was good at knocking over bums. For me, he only fought three world class fighters, Holmes, Holyfield and Lewis. Holmes was an ageing fighter and in the other two fights Tyson absolutely folded-- especially mentally.( Remember the biting of Holyfield's ear and the biting of Lewis's leg at the weigh in?) He bottled it, he knew he couldn't bully them and folded.
  5. I've done it too mate. They should have different shaped nozzles for petrol and diesel so that it's impossible to fit the wrong one. Like lego-simples.
  6. Couldn't agree more. Ali must have been shaking his head in disbelief at the recent Fury Klitscko fight. The standard of heavyweight boxing has plummeted so much it's almost unrecognisable. It's mostly about over-sized freaks desperately keeping their head out of range of the other guy's punches.
  7. Well done on your man's performance. I actually backed Fury to win but I was surprised the way he took the fight to Klitchko in several ways. I have always felt Fury was under-rated, albeit in a division which is in a dire state. However, if you know T F please tell him to stop bringing the boxing game into disrepute. The game doesn't need the batman antics, the comments where he says he will 'lick Klit' and the stuff about Klitchko's sexuality etc etc. Best of luck to him in the future, but ffs tell him to behave in a more dignified manner for his and his family's sake, and for the sake o
  8. What a cracking pup. I 'm surprised you had him among sheep without a check lead. Maybe I'm a control freak but I always work on the principle of not letting bad habits develop so would have a check lead on him just in case the sheep suddenly take off and the pup would excitedly follow. However you obviously have a different method which has worked for you over the years. Just to satisfy my curiosity---what would you have done if he took off after mutton?
  9. I've heard of 'Hunt jump kill and carry'. But never 'hunt jump with cat and carry'.
  10. I sense I'm in for a hard time for this claim but I had a Siamese cat that regularly killed adult hares. I used to live on a sporting estate with a huge hare population and she regularly dragged them home between her legs like a leopard carries its prey. And no my nose is not getting longer as i write this. Of course she preferred leverets but she had several fully grown ones over the years. In fact she regularly provided supplementary feeding for my dogs and ferrets.
  11. It probably means what it says Muslims.......ISIS is just one of the many Muslim groups Al Qaeda is another All are made up of Muslims from all over the world fighting to force their ideology on others IRA was totally different How? Dont think they were exactly the same thats obvious but enough similarities to make a good comparison. After all were they not Catholics fighting to be a Catholic country in a protestant one, don't think there were many protestants members of the IRA.. Catholics and protestants shared a common language, food, culture and DNA compared to the muslims me
  12. Did you mean ISIL or muslim? They are not the same. All catholics don't support the IRA. Etc etc.
  13. Where I'm from there's a saying: No jumping, no hares.

  16. Not all of us want to see pics of Dave Platt breeding.
  17. I've got a really geeky memory. Didn't you have a collie hybrid called 'Maddie' which would jump anything? I'm going back to The Shooting News era. Or, even better, how about the one of Speckle jumping off the jetty? That's my all time favourite lurcher photo. Are you another dog geek?

  19. Like the way the dog is using his brains. He's jumping with plenty of clearance to make sure his catch doesn't hit the wire.
  20. There's a big difference between a dog that jumps for fun and with complete confidence and one that jumps but with no real confidence in its ability. Your dog looks like jumping is second nature to it. Anybody any pics of lurchers jumping hedges? That's a difficult thing to teach a dog, but when mastered it puts plenty of gear in the bag.
  21. Who bred it if you don't mind me asking? A further piece of advice I would offer, is to work on recall before letting him work. A dog that won't come back to you after a chase, especially at night, is not worth the bother.
  22. Sal gives more wind and a more thinking running style. Back to the question as to whether greys are too fragile. how many prey animals do you see in the wild with the same frame as a greyhound? The only one that comes close is the cheetah which runs on the flat. Evolution has dictated that for running on varied ground, a more robust constitution is needed. For me a greyhound is like a sports car. You wouldn't run a sports car on stony, uneven ploughed field. sooner or later it will get badly damaged.
  23. Thats right mate. thanks What cross is your pup mate? He look really alert and clued up.
