At 25yards with most scopes after looking through it for a few minutes it will go blurry look away let eyes readjust then look back through scope. The paralax adjustment should not move your poi point of impact as all you are doing is adjusting for a clearer image and as all lenses are in line you poi should not move if it does move pop when you adjust your scope is faulty. Why did how expect grouping to move after adjusting paralax ?

Do I Really Need A Reloading Manual¿¿¿¿¿
GEOFF.223 replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
I agree with the anal bit some people make it out to be much harder than it really is. Know a guy that real big into rifles and reloading and he said he would be lucky if he cleaned his brass 2 a year, i asked when do you clean it he said when it looks dirty. Makes sense to me. Still no one has given me the additional info i can get in a reloading manual...... -

Do I Really Need A Reloading Manual¿¿¿¿¿
GEOFF.223 replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
So what other info do the manual give? I thought all i needed was overall brass length overall bullet length and min and max powder charge which is easily found on all the powders website's. -

First Shotgun - Advice Please Folks
GEOFF.223 replied to hutchey's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
One of the best guns i have ever shoot is a beretta supersport with the ported barrels. Light weight very little recoil £900 ish second hand, this will be my 1st choice of a o/u And i should also aid im not a o/u fan i prefer semi's but the supersport my sway me The supersports don't look overly fancy but the way the shoot is completed different to most o/u i have shoot. There is only ever a few of them on guntrader Just looked there there is only 2 on guntrader well it says theres 3 but ones a 682 sport and the other 2 supersports with no pics all 900 -
Only pellets in the UK that will hold a good zero for most air rifles over 25ftlb are bisley magnums

American Eagle Hollow Points Not Dropping Foxs ¿
GEOFF.223 replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The high zero at 100is great for shooting a fox when there a tricky one and you don't have time to without hoe far away it is. Its nice to point at center mass quick and pull the trigger and knowing it will hit a vital area from 100 to 300 yards As i said before i click scope down 6 click when rabbiting with it on the rare occasion -

1"off poi is not going to matter with the correct bullet this thread was started because of the difference in dropping power against a ballistic tip bullet nothing to do with zeroing or poi 1" off target on a fox's chest with a ballistic tip will drop them on the spot but bye ae don't as most made it to cover and i only found half of the one's i shot -
Could Never Shoot A O/u As Good As Semi's
GEOFF.223 replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
It has yo be said baikel make a extremely good shotgun for the price they go for. And the have the longest lasting blueing of any shotgun apparently. As for gun fit i have held some guns that don't sit right. cast off to far and comb to high or to low. My mate has had a few Semi's and can't get on with them but he is rather short and when he went for lessons he was told the gun is way to big and that's coming from a guy with 40year's experience in teaching. I have George digweed clay coaching dvd he claims in it he doesn't think a gun has to fit but the user must learn to shoot -
Try pulling the dead badger out from beneath the jeep to start with.

I painted my up with more white as the white on mine were very dull the pigeons that come in land and start to feed feet away from them. Im very pleased with them

Ghost net's are good light weight not a bad price Im considering trying one of the see through one's in which you can see out but can't see in. And word of advice spend the extra £10 and get a big one i have a 6m net and when there is 2 of us it tiny.

Could Never Shoot A O/u As Good As Semi's
GEOFF.223 replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Im pretty sure you'd get less recoil with a semi auto? A Semi auto usually has a gas assisted system, which in turn will lessen the perceived recoil, and therefore having less recoil than a O/U. But factors that will contribute to the recoil felt is obviously the weight of your loads and weight of the gun etc. But generally, a semi auto will have less recoil. That's what i always lead to believe but after trying afew good quality o/u especially one's with ported barrels like the bereft supersport have almost no recoil to my current a390 semi but on the other hand some o/u would knock you teeth -

My mate has a wee baikel o/u and wee all shoot well with it for a gun that cost £100 in basically new condition. I told him my s/s baikel was terrible to shoot and as per usual the old joke's started i said don't worry I'll bring it nxt day were doing clay's, 10 clay's later he handed back and said f.u.c.k that heap of junk so then i started the joke's. Also told him he's shooting his baikel very well and for the sach of £100 never get rid of it if you can shoot it. I learnt the hard way and got rid of a beretta a302 which i felt real comfortable shooting then got a cheap bettinsoli -

You got to love the comments like if you can shoot you can shoot!!! I'll give you a go with a old baikel i had no one could shoot it it was terrible the rib tapered down low and the barrels pointed high no matter who tried it they couldn't hit a barn door I find Semi's are better balanced for me and i prefer bigger guns and emi's are usual always bigger than s/s and o/u. I have owned a few beretta o/u and a few old s/s but the semi always has felt better to me from day one I also find tall people like semi and short arses prefer o/u. -

I have always been able to shoot semi's better than o/u not matter what brand the shotgun would be and have always felt that semi's felt alot more natural and ots always fun when my mates wind me up at clays at then i win And yes have shoot several different types of o/u before you o/u guys have a huff and have owned several o/u aswell to tell the truth the only o/u i got on with was a beretta supersport best o/u i ever think made., just because of the manner in wich it shoots. -
Cannot Get A Decent Group .223
GEOFF.223 replied to fiona22's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Best way was to always let someone else with good experience shoot it before you pull you hair out. Some rifles have been known to have accuracy issue's such s the browning a bolts with the fluted barrels but the none fluted barrels don't ! -
22 Lr Quick Question For You Guys????
GEOFF.223 replied to lampingking's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Find a rabbit at 15yards and keep shooting until you hit it then remember ur holdunder ¿¿¿¿¿¿ -
I have just started reloading and im not seeing the magor need for a manual as i can get information from online bullet suppliers and powder compainies for what other information do need rather than over all lenght, min and max charge, bullet setting depth??? Yeah wouldn't trust any information off forums or random page's would only use information from powders companies and bullets companies etc. Well what other information do the manuals give????

American Eagle Hollow Points Not Dropping Foxs ¿
GEOFF.223 replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
No offence meant Geoff. Was just pointing out the folly of having a zero which is 1.5 inches astray. Not everyone who reads the forum necesarily understands this. No offence taking just don't understand the big deal with zeroing 1.5" high at 100yards. When i zero my rifle for rabbit's i click scope down 6 clicks so poi is dead on 100yards -

GEOFF.223 replied to GEOFF.223's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
They will NOT fragment very well, they are Jacketed HP, they will peel back and expand mushroom fashion, or go clean through depending where you hit the fox, possibly both. Just exactly where do you think you were hitting these foxes, because whatever you may think, if you put one of these in the right place the fox will fall down! "rezerod 1.5" high at 100yds as per usual" WHY, if you are shooting foxes -120, why are you not zeroed at 100 yards, and just where is the zero if you are 1.5" high at 100 yards?? Most of my fox's are shot between 100 and 300 yards if i hold crosshairs o -
