Richard Morgan replied to Robert morrison's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
be carefully had my 5 mth beddy doing some retrieving with my cocker and after 5 or 6 returns i noticed some blood on his back leg just above his paw he had some how caught his leg and had a cut roughly 3/4 of an inch which had opened up like a gash fetched him home and cleaned him up walked the ground first as well before i let him off as he has been treat with kit gloves as i was told whippet crosses are prone to tears hopefully a one off. -
dont think ill ever own a bull cross but that 6 mths picture is excellent looks worlds apart from my beddy best of luck mate

taking into account all the various factors what are the key fundamentals that make up your lurchers -stamina,turning,speed off themark/topend,striking,anticipation,experience,brains,strength,guile,gameness,light or heavy frame. keen to see how peoples requirements and personal preferences play apart in their dogs.

on a different note speaking as a ex boxer of 15 years theirs plenty of talent in this country its just a matter of how its nurtured and brought on.
-
i certainly wont be contributing to it in anyway shape or form this country is a complete joke all the work was done by the eastern block persuasion, the adverts for it are to be quiet honest a joke its been held where only the moneyed can attend the soldiers have had to bail them out by providing personel in the meantime losing 20 thousand jobs the sooner theirs a drastic change to the uks policies and basic class system the better.

i fancyed a deerhound cross but end up settling on a beddy i like the old fashioned look that comes with a rough haired lurcher for the work ill be doing with mine the beddy better suited my needs i will deffinetly own a deerhound cross in the future, when i asked a bloke about what this cross was like on rabbits he said hed only ever seen one run and it got 28 that night he said it wasnt the quickest or the best turner but was the best striker hed ever seen.

Sure is! thats my type a whippet, i dont like saying it on here cos its sure to ruffle a few feathers an get some dummys thrown about, but i cant see why folk would use sho bred whippets when there are dogs like this about Everyone has there opinion and i respect that, but how can you call me for using show bred blood when you haven't seen my dogs? At the end of the day I'm more than happy with them and that's all that matters. fantastic looking dog
