  1. I've had a set up for about a year now and haven't used it yet (how sad is that) but It has been put to use by two of my friends and it has produced on four out of four outings. Both of my friends rate them, I've also got some smart Perch and Pike jeck baits aswell made by Toothy Critter I think.
  2. we choose our dogs, not them us and as the old saying goes a good workman never blames his tools. All dogs at our home stay even if they don't make the grade and if they don't make the grade or they don't live in harmony they will be found a home of equal quality as it is our duty as owners/dog lovers to do so, not the responsabilty of a the state or any other so called animal wellfare body. People take responsabilty of the animals YOU choose to keep.
  3. Yes my friend, well done . As you have mentioned they are sadly becoming less and less .
  4. All our fish are hand graded and we stock within the recomended guide line set by some clever dude employed by the enviroment agency, which is 75lb-150lb of trout/acre depending on the depth of water and its quality. This is so that trout have enough natural food to maintain their condition, it's an animal welfare thing . I am also a man that conserves his energys for something more enjoyable but at this time of year mother nature doesn't allow me much free time, saying that its wrecking etc for me on Friday, 30 miles off the coast from Brighton .
  5. Yes I agree there should be bait only trout waters or any method waters, there used to be. There are some waters that as you say are so densley populated with trout that their compatition for food forces them to compete for fluff and steel. I must say in the fly fishers defence that fishing for trout with bait would make it too easy as they are raised eating twice a day every day and have no real instinctual fear of humans or any thing come to that(just look at the gerth on a resovior pike to show you how easy preditors find them to catch)so if you enjoy your time down by the lake side you don
  6. Alright Fella, do you have a B&Q near you. They do an own brand type of 2 stroke hedge cutter its about £100 and with a guarentee. I think its probably Chinese but they have nearly got it right, feck me they make enough of them.
  7. If there were only sweetcorn only waters you would get bods using someting like worms to get the upper hand, no it wouldn't work I'm sure they'ed get robbed and anyway they do have sweetcorn pools at some waters you must have seen them, there for children
  8. Yes I'll make you right, there is many a fly fisher that can't play a fish or many may well go under gunned but I am usually the first one that will bite my lip as they tell me about the one "that just bit me clean off" it winds me up as there is no need for it. I know fish are at the bottom of the food chain and don't really think much, but that fish swimming about with a hook in it is no good to anyone. But why I think your methods are shall we say contravershall, are that these so called commercial trout fisheries are set up for fly fishing and it is not difficult to catch fish using bait,
  9. how much easier it was not living in a supermarket society. and better for you.
  10. I hunt for good food, the fact that I enjoy it, I think doesn't make it sport. In fact I don't remember ever being in competition with anyone.
  11. Its LUNCHEON-meat fly LG,I never actually tried it but as soon as you give me an invite to your fishery old chum I might, just give me directions, but no "Burning" your hairy palm on me Sorry about the spelling old bean, if I knew you weren't going to take the piss I'd love to have you here as I would anyone who thinks they could fool a fish by more honerable means and you sound like an interesting type of chap. Any way Mackem you obviuosly know how to use a fly rod do you think its a good method to catch fish?
  12. No really I meant "nice" I think it is great to catch any fish on a fly, its a real full on battle, real in intemate like. I fished recently for big carp, proper explosive on virgin waters, burned my palm on a screaming reel, Feck .
  13. Very good, you should ask Mackem all about, it I heard he had 43 once on the lunchen meat fly at night.

  18. Hello Mackem, you know what you have just made me done to cleanse my soul, I've just smashed my mouth piece so it can't be used. I hope you are right. Maybe you could use one to go stalking at your syndicate, now that would be a challange and I would think more highly of you
  19. messing what up dude. How long ago did they put a FAC on them I brought mine without one, it's a two piece one in camo and it's 7' long, with 4 and 7" darts.

  21. hi my mother in law looking for dog to gaurd her house it house on it own and she got broken in to last year how would this dog do if some tryed again If that bitch barked which I assume it does they wouldn't try. Cheap bitch, good luck.
  22. I have a blow pipe quite accurate/powerfull you need pliers to get the darts out of wood. The down side of them is the noise, your target/quarry can move before the dart gets there. Great fun though, the one I've got .50 actually takes stink bombs and an array of different darts some really nasty looking.
  23. im sorry if it seems that way merlin, but im just giving my experince on them. i had a bull x greyhound a while back, raised it from a pup with my kids, he was great wee dog, came from very good foxing lines ect ect. one evening, 7 years ago, my nepfhew called round to have a game of footy with my son. they were having the craic ect, the bull x was in the garden with them. my nephew started clapping his hands, the dog ran up to him and nearly took his arm off, it took 3 of us grown men ( work mates) to get the dog off. the poor lad had to have the arm cut off, due to it being badly crushed to
