    I'd say it sounds like you have ran her to hard or u have given her to many slips she had no chance off catching I did the very same thing to my dog thoroughly stupidity and by knowing any better just treat it like your starting a pup off from scratch only squatters and rabbits on the middle off fields until she is getting 3 out of 5 that should build her confidence then only slips within reason

    Sussex are a good laying bird but can take some feeding up before are worth eating I'd buy some off them big French white ones they use in the factory farms if you have them on decent grub an scraps taste just as good as anything else just quicker grow an bigger bird

    I had quite a lot of rats along my chicken sheds at one point an as the sheds are all in a line they would run all the way down if u shook each shed an I just put bricks in the biggest holes in the day that slows them down a bit as they seem to go to the biggest holes first but wouldn't know if this would work in a barn as I assume u have bales in there so they don't have like proper holes in the ground

    I've never had much luck trying to catch then at night in the barns an sheds usually get more luck going out in the day with the ferrets and smoker

    If your smoking out in the day block it there an then but if your coming In the early evening with a lamp trying for a couple runs for the terriers there's not a great deal you can do as if u block them earlier there only going to come out a different Way then run back the same way just try an move obstacles for the dogs so they have a bit more off an open run an if u do that do it in the day

    The way the pups coming on you would think she would make a good lurcher as she is biddable an very smart an already making her own catches so early but I don't think she will have the pace to catch around me on the lamp if she learns the trick to squatters might have some use but I think my ferreting ideas out the window as she won't have the ferrets just strikes for them

    My pure Dane is an absolute faggot biggest wimp going and any leanth of time free running always gets knocked up toes don't have any stamina and really can't be trusted round little dogs as she paws them an then she gets her arse kicked by my terrier surprisingly fast when stretches out for 9 stone off dog but on the whole don't see the point in trying to create a running dog out of a hound as they are a scent hound originally especially when they have nothing positive to bring that we don't already have
