My old man still has alot of his original busscheart and richarte(think that's it) blood from the 80s but has started to bring in distance birds because sprint is impossible down here with the hawks

Weve always had bass all year because we have 4/5 nursery's close but the cod fishing gets worse every year down here. You can now though target Bream or even triggers so it's swings and roundabouts. We also now get a good run of really good whiting which personally I prefer to cod anyway. What should have been the British record bass was caught not far from you and the same lad has had several doubles close to you now. Layde Bay is also throwing up decent blondes in sept/oct

Honestly mate you can catch them all year down here off the harbour walls now, not always good numbers like Arry had but enough for food or bait

Believe it or not they didn't turn up in numbers til Oct then disappeared and came back a week or 2 ago. We get mackerel all year now and just the other night I managed to catch a gar with a landing net well up a river. Our waters down here are warm enough to hold things like mackerel and Bream all year now

My dad ran all sorts but it was only the bullxs that could keep up really from what the old boys have told me. Out of however many dogs they tried and tested there's only 4 or 5 non bullxs they talk about unless it's a story of a dog spewing.

Sorry to hear that mate, the good ones memory lives much longer than they ever could. My old bitch has been dead atleast 5 year and shes talked about as if she ran last week. My dad and the old boys still talk about certain dogs and episodes on certain fields from the late 70s/ early 80s, heck they still lamp the same fields. -
