  1. my old ferret latched onto my pup and from then on my dog dint take any notice or go near the ferrets again
  2. Anyone around Chippenham/ cord ham fancie letting us come out for a mooch this afternoon? There's 2 of us me and brian911 who used to be on this site and our 3 pups? Bit of a long shot but worth an ask I suppose! ( all dogs stock Brocken) were around the area and at a loose end lol any offers would be nice cheers ?
  3. Good luck! -1 here now and bloody moons out so cup of Horlick and an early night for me lol
  4. Just looked on pets4homes and there's a 3 year old Norfolk bitch for sale a great deal for 2000 ??
  5. I haven't seen or heard of any for sale for a while but my mate has got a Norfolk x which is a really good busher and ratter, he's getting on now and barly escaped parvovirus last year, I do like these little dogs tho
  6. Lol ok thanks for that, my mate had it serviced today as well and there's no rust to be seen at the moment it just needs a good valet as its got bird shit on the back seat from his Harris hawk lol but all I want is a reliable little jeep for the misses to get little one to school around these dreadful lanes! ( and so I can take the dogs out ) cheers
  7. The misses wanted a small 4x4, we used to have a lwb vitara and it was brilliant but after 2 years of having cars and living in the countryside it's just not practical, so an opportunity came my way yesterday and I've bought a 2000 plate jimney for a very tidy price and only 70,000 miles on it. I've heard good things about these little jeeps but just wanted to know what other people's opinions are on them? Any bad points? Also my mate who I've bought it from has put some nice knobblys on it and seems to think ill never get stuck lol
  8. Russell type mate or Plummer if its purly ratting then you won't go far wrong with one these. My mate has a Norfolk x Russell and even at 10 years old he's a demon on the little feckers..... Don't be roped into paying more than 200 for a pup but you can source quite good pups from workers around the 100 quid mark. Atb
  9. winterbourne site 3rd one no sign of but two is better than none thanks again for your support we will keep looking a result is a result tho hopefully you'll get the last one back atb
  10. Im the opposit I've got problems putting the weight on my pup, one min she's fine then The next looks like a scrawny rat that needs a good feed! ( there's always food down and she gets wormed regular, just can't put my finger in it lol)
  11. I'm south Bristol/ North Somerset border and the rabbit number are shite! Although bagged myself a bit of permission yesterday and there seems to be a couple lurcking about.... Wet weather has fooked it all up hopefully next year will be a bit more fruitful
  12. My pup beddi whippet ( sire was the whippet so technically does that make her a whippet x Bedlington? ) took her out ferreting loads from 4 months old onwards she started to show good signs when on her own but when other dogs present she was more interested in being a pup and chasing the other dogs....sadly haven't got time for ferreting ATM so she will be used for lamping once she gets her head around it a bit better, I've heard nothing but praise from People who own these dogs for ferreting, better than a whippet or another lurcher for that matter? I don't think so but great little companion
  13. Nice looking pup, hope it does well for you in the future
  14. Both my lurcher (11 months) and my terrier pup (4 months) are kept inside both sleep in the kitchen in a crate that's always left open so they have free roam, as soon as the kennel is built the terrier will be outside. my lurcher isn't what you would call a " working lurcher " at the moment but I don't think her being inside or outside would effect her future working ability, if it was up to me tho and not the fact my misses is soft they would both be outside
  15. Exactly what I was thinking lol
  16. Fini Finished work at 3 today so decided to go for a drive and try my luck at getting a few permissions for lamping, more so for next year but with the hope of giving my pup a few runs before the end of the season.... Been out for 2 hours driving about and managed to secure a small 20 acres with a 26 acre woodland attached so better than nothing I suppose! Had a little wonder round and saw plenty warrens on the edge of the woodland and 3 rabbits made a bolt for it as I was going into the field so looks kind of promising, just hope to secure some more on the back of it soon
  17. that's the problem tho, we are not doing the same places, all season lamping we haven't had a rabbit to our name! The only rabbits I've had is the ones I've ferreted and that's only around no more than 10 rabbits!
  18. Haha well anyone's more than welcome to come and restock the whole south of Bristol if they want, just don't tell the land owners I told you to
  19. Even if I wanted to re populate I would have to source rabbits from somewhere else.... But where? Anybody want to sell me some live rabbits? Lmao! ( that was a joke before anyone jumps down my throat lol)
  20. Introduce yourself and ask if they have any problems with rabbits and that your looking for some permission and would be willing to come on and clear them, be polite even if they reject you.
  21. nope bristols dead on its ass! I've tried all over and can't find owt! And the only place we did find rabbits on we ended up having 3 truck try and baracade us in the lane and one of which followed us for a good 6 mile before he gave up! Personally I'm running out of ideas as to wear to go! tha is long dog you'll have a pm shortly, top man
  22. Any one in Bristol need a labourer? I want to give the job up I have so I can get a new one and have weekends of so ill have time to hunt my pup in the day instead of only having limited time on the night to search for rabbits lol
