  1. nope bristols dead on its ass! I've tried all over and can't find owt! And the only place we did find rabbits on we ended up having 3 truck try and baracade us in the lane and one of which followed us for a good 6 mile before he gave up! Personally I'm running out of ideas as to wear to go!
  2. yea I can see what your saying, I would love to move to a place so that I'm able to keep up a passion but unfortunately comitments keep me here. No rabbits hardly any hares about here either! And with my little tyke I'm trying to get running there's not much chance of anything else
  3. its easier to give in than put in the extra yards and commitment,i remember in the not so distant past,me and a mucker wore boots and dogs out to fill a game bag, walked the same land daytime, then re traced our footsteps in the lamp and covered it again.what you put in will reward,no easy or quick fixes, time effort and footwork will give more than any time moaning on a computer network.theres only so much we can cover in one night and if the rabbits arnt there then what? I might as well sit o. The computer moaning about my misfortune and just read up on other people's great success lol
  4. Haven't been doing the same place mate, we've tried a different place each time and still drawing blanks! There's just no rabbits about
  5. just got back in from a quick shine with a mate and absolutely naff all about once again! Over the last few weeks we've been able to get 2 maybe 3 runs but to night saw one rabbit after being out 2 hours! It's shocking! Got a pup here I really want to get going ready for next year but there just ain't anything about and it don't seem like its gonna get any better! Seriously thinking wether to just give it all up before its started and let the lurcher live a life of luxury in front of the fire as a pot licker!
  6. Whenever you think it's ready mate, but just remember you can ruin a dog to young but can't ruin a dog that's older. No harm In getting it out watching and getting used to the lamp and ground you'll be to running in the dark and get it used to seing it's quarry down the beem, but for a average age to start it working 12 months +
  7. Thanks will check them out
  8. Looking at getting my dogs portraits done, any body recommend somebody or have a website I can look on? Thanks
  9. Yea mate the lurcher is a Bedlington whippet, ill make sure to separate them
  10. Ok lol ill bear that in mind, at the moment they both sleep in the house but as soon as the kennels are built they will be outside, but just wanted to make sure and hear different opinions. Cheers
  11. I have heard on many occasions about lurchers and terriers kennelled together end badly, now my lurcher was 10 months old when we got the terrier pup and they get on like a house on fire but as this is my 1st type of terrier like this that actually belong to me instead of a family dog and although they get on fine do you think I would be better kenneli mg them separately as the terrier matures or would they be fine because of they early bonding between the two? For what it's worth they're both bitches. What you all think?
  12. I got my pup from pre loved, at the time i wasnt to bothersd about working a dog as rabbits have been thin on the ground but wanted a lurcher purley because of there good nature and obviously if I did fancie going out I have a dog there. The pups was well looked after and the couple selling them seemed really nice, unfortunately the parents wasn't worked but I took the risk and bought the pup, 11 months on and she's showing some good signs, so as said its luck of the draw, not all people on this sites are bad but most are pedlars.
