some one that knows his dogs/line should know when to rest/retire a dog and not sicken it-imo-it would depend on the working style of the dog to wether it should be getting used at 10 yr old +.if they steady and methodical then some keep going well past that-if you have had the dog and worked it for 10 yrs you should know its limits and end on a high note-imho.atb

anything........... No, just small important items that could easily be lost or forgotten in my hunting or fishing kit........right down to cookers, I take 2 petrol stoves fishing one of which is a multi fuel in case one breaks or I run out of petrol...... Some lads go hunting or shooting or fishing and they honestly could not find their arse with both hands in the dark!!!......drives me f*****g nuts lads who don't have their kit squared away and in order i am the same........you must have order!!!!

there has been some real good replies on this topic-from men who are speaking through experiance by the sounds of it-good thread marshman it seems that everyone has a theory on how to produce the best-but no one way is garenteed-looks like you have to be honest with yourself and just keep testing the dogs to the max

I agree It shouldn't be done again and again, but when your backs against the wall it maybe the right thing/only thing to do. if they only for you then you do what you need to do but dont agree with passing them of as out of grafters-thats a cnuts trick imho

i have playboats and enjoy the sea and white water-you all need to know what to do if something goes wrong-the sea is a different ball game to slow moving canal/river-helmets and flotation vest are a must-you need someone in the group that is clued up-throw bags with rope lines etc and how to use them-get as much practice as you can in a pool before you go near any water course the river wye is a good river to start on and get some experiance if you have children-20 notes all day as far as you can paddle and they pick you up outside the many pubs on the river-WINNER ATB stay safe
