    To be honest vin Jim's hobs did account for more rabbits than my Jill's and I don't mind admitting it,but yes I dug to my Jill a few times and Jim's hobs bolted more than I expected But i personally prefer Jill's and you never know what will happen on the day,even when it's a comp,it's what you prefer to work,I will keep using my Jill's and catching rabbits so I'm happy,I also think Jim's a good bloke, I'm pleased we got a day out Atb rc1

    Yes Jim, the weather was wild to say the least,it was hard to hear the bleeper box never mind out else,but as you have said it's nice to be out with some one who knows and loves the sport, I was pleased to meet you and I enjoyed the day, So thanks for the day mate, and we might get out for another day, if you fancy it Atb Adam

    Bulldog spade, I had the rabbiting spade but it got stolen,now I have a wide head bulldog spade with a white plastic shaft, rate it highly all be it I've had lighter spades Atb rc1

    When the jill comes back into season in 6 weeks time will the vet rejab her again? and again 6 weeks after the 2nd jab as it will still only be early May? Y.I.S Leeview To be honest leeview I'm not sure nor do I know much about the jab as I've never had my jills jabbed but if they were to come back into season every 6 weeks after the jab, what's the point in it?     Totally agree I sometimes chop all the bramble and cover down off a set with a big slough hook then put nets on and as said they still bolt Other days I can set nets on a open burrow in silence and still have 3-4 digs So I'm with you on that jim And when digging the name of the game is to get down quick ? Rc1

    What do you mean laying up? If she's pushing the rabbits to stop ends then staying til you dig down a lot of ferrets do this or is she geting hold of the rabbit and staying? Bit more info Atb rc1

    I've worked hobs and jills but I prefer long slender Jill's as I find it's a lot of digging to hobs due to them been able to hold a rabbit better than a Jill or the rabbit not being able to pass the hob in a tunnel, once a hob has learned to kill quick your fecked as you spend most of the day digging, the way I see it is ferreting is better without the digs as digging is time consuming and bloody hard work, The challenge above should be for bolted rabbits highest tally at a set time with all ferrets in box and nets up Atb rc1

    I'm not sure if mine are the exact same but I have a few here that a long and slim, me and a mate have kept this line for a while and I've bred off them before and still get the odd long greyhound type but my lass sumtimes over feeds them lol I will try and get a couple of pics up later Atb rc1

    Aye cold day mate but we slogged on, MAYBE one more day at them with the stinkers then it will be out with the pups and air rifles, can't complain last 3 trips being 16 then 26 then today for 31 Atb mate Adam
