Nice shooting with a superb little gun. I honestly doubt that even shooting every rabbit you see will eradicate them. Just when i think I've exhausted a warren, there is always one more. Never tell the landowner "right oh, job done". He will make you eat those words in my experience...so far. Keep photo records though and ask if he wants your surplus.
Nice one Si. I have a suggestion which typically is all theory without practice.
If you used a mag, say 6x, that displayed in your sight picture a rabbits head as a mildot either side width at zero range, that should give you a quick idea of range. If too small, get closer/aim off.
Of course in your scenario that wouldn't have helped with the necessary preparation.
I say this as I don't have AO on my scopes. If I did it could also speed things up.
If things change I'd like to nominate:
Food From The Fields, Not The Aisles.
Hunting - Its Spiritual and Mythological Connections.
Man - Ultimate Predator and Amateur Vegetable.
Cheers!
1, showers, who cares, 2, i`m male a tree will do to hide behind, 3, barbecues and gas burners count as a kitchen(or the fire i will provide),4, bar, chair and case of beer next to you counts as a bar
Welcome to my world lol.
If Mawders will give me a lift, count me in! Not far from my patch!
The trusty tx will come. Maybe the new scorpion t10 if i haven't traded it for a 100t!
Don't forget the myriad of pellet weight/sizes. A heavy flat headed .177 will pack a lethal punch.
.177 gives that extra range without adjustment. The same range is there with .22 but requires a mil dot or so.
FYI .177 is less affected by wind than .22 owing to the smaller surface area and higher speed of the round.
For me, .177 is best for sub 12ft/lbs shooting. If we were allowed upto 20 ft/lbs unlicensed, I'd use .22.
If i got a call tomorrow granting me permission to that acreage...I think i'd have a hard time not grabbing my gun and running naked as a baby laughing and screaming until my legs and lungs gave out leaving me crumpled in a shivering pale white pile mumbling crap about rabbits...
Where are you looking? I bought my whole bundle from ant-supplies.co.uk eBay would have em for sure. I may even have a spare 240v one you could have (my caravan is run on our 12v solar panels).
