  1. I used Chairgun to print out a BDC for my setup some years ago. There is no shortcut, you still need to carry out your own tests using targets set out every 5yds through your shooting ranges. Chairgun is accurate, but only if you are spot on with your setup on the rifle. Best to use the chart as an indication and refine it with your own targets. Dave
  2. I'm sure that you will find what you are looking for here, but if you need some extra information, I know that there are several Northern Ireland air rifle shooters who post on the Air Arms Owners Club website. I don't want to poach you for another forum but if you don't find what you are looking for, put a post over there. It would be helpful to know just what type of shooting you are looking to do and also whether you are looking to kill God's critters for food or just want to do target shooting. Hope that helps. Dave
  3. I like Air Arms. Owned the S400 and currently own a Pro-Target along with a S410 which I will put for sale at some point. Just try to stay away from the recent ones fitted with anti tamper. Dave
  4. If you do not have a business account, the only courier who will insure your precious is going to be ParcelForce 48 (there might be a length limit). However these people have been mentioned on two other forums as willing to courier an air rifle: http://www.awexpress.com/ I don't know what insurance they offer (havn't contacted them), but might be worth a try.
  5. This thread is on the AAOC as well. When we shoot at Old Downs Pursuits, we have to book in and then walk a couple of hundred yards along a public highway to get to the entrance of the shoot. I've seen some shooters with a broken shotty over their shoulder. The rest of us are sensible enough to keep our rifles in a bag.

  7. A civilian is not allowed to shoot/fire exploding ordnance, apparently a civilian isn't allowed to rob a bank either (there might be a few more exceptions). A bit of a bummer because I've always wanted to rob a bank.
  8. It's definitely not illegal, and neither will Iran develop a nuclear weapon.
  9. The weather should be fine for the morning shoot, a bit of wind with the possibility of a small amount of rain. The main weather front will arrive around 1:45 in the afternoon with a foot of rain and a tidal wave which will envelope the south of England. See you all in the morning.
  10. David Dabaye 47 and 49 should be THL member (tis me).
  11. Enjoyed every minute of it. Hopefully I will be there next year as well. There was some great shooting going on (despite the weather~). Dave
  12. I shall be there, mostly on the zero range though. Dave
  13. I'll be there. The booking form does say which rifle are you using but I'm sure that you are allowed to change your mind - what if you break your rifle and turn up with a different one. They arn't going to send you home I'm pretty sure. It's too late for any more entries, the closing date is tomorrow and the application and payment has to be sent by post. Dave
  14. I used to shoot Field Target. Their scopes are high mag - up to 50x and are typically side focus with a giant add on wheel. The side focus is to accurately work out the distance - up to 50yds, a good scope can get to within 1 yard accuracy. The top turret is marked with the distances and you simply turn the turret until the distance is dialled in. I shoot Hunter Field Target nowadays and use a 10x scope, no more fiddling with turrets. Everything is set up for shooting out to 45yds and estimating distance and amount of hold over. Dave
  15. Young Fox perhaps, or maybe a squizzer on magic mushrooms. Dave
  16. Although there was nothing obviously difficult, it turned out to be quite a testing course. Johnny had put a lot of thought into it. The weather was good with a variable gusting wind - one second it was still and the next it was adding a mildot to the target. A great bunch of guys at Worcester, always a pleasure to shoot there, wish I could get over more often. Dave
  17. Your best bet is to take some targets with you and set them out on your permission. With a 25yd zero on flat ground, you will find that when shooting up into a tree or downhill, the POI will be different. I can only suggest that you practice 'in the field' to get your aimpoints sorted, before giving mr bunny a bash. Pretty much what A1WOC said
  18. It was nice to meet up with everyone. I managed a 46. Would have been 50 if I hadn't shot two wrong targets. One is bad enough but 2 is taking the Michael.

  20. What a great weekend. Enjoyed every minute of it, even the 30 degrees temperatures. Thanks to everyone I met and especially the guys for organising it. Dave
  21. I came across this when doing a search: http://www.schulzdiabolo.cz/en/pellets/ I think that they also manufacture for Air Arms and Daystate using different dies but have no direct evidence to support this. However if you look at the list of European distributors on the website, Air Arms and Daystate are listed. I will let you draw your own conclusions.
  22. This is the extract from the current restrictions for a normal retail (non account) customer: Arms and Ammunition All firearms including: imitations and antiques; paint-ball or toy guns; taser guns; air rifles, air pistols, components of firearms and all other items similar to, or resembling the foregoing are prohibited. All ammunition (including components thereof) and airgun pellets are also prohibited. The terms and conditions for account customers allows pellets to be carried but once again no air rifles are permitted. To get some clarification as to when the new T&C's came i
  23. As I understand it, they both come from the same factory but have different dies.
  24. Royal Mail - Special Delivery - are the only courier who will knowingly transport an air rifle - keep the parcel length to 1metre max. They are the only national courier who will insure the contents. Any other courier will not insure and will not knowingly deliver (unless apparently you have an account). Royal Mail were going to stop delivering air rifles but very sensibly have decided to keep it on their books.
