I used to stay near the base in Folkestone that the Ghurkhas are based out of (names escapes me right now?) and would see them about town regular, they were always so well turned out and you could just tell how proud they were of being in the regiment real polite and helpful too

So when are we having THL mushroom picking meet?
-
Sometimes it gives you a different perspective on that very reality you speak of TC, one that makes you understand it much more clearly than you did before.. Surely as a hallucinogenic any perspective it would give you would be suspect to say the least? TC Sounds really corny, but a trip is a voyage of self discovery if done right. When most young folk start taking mushrooms, they do so because they've head stories about seeing dragons and being chased up the stairs by giant mars bars, but if you have the right sort of mind, ie you're an intelligent person with a good con

TC Don't tell that to all the great thinkers and philosophers from history, most of their great ideas and insights into the human condition were made when out of their face on some drug or other

Really wishing I could like your posts in this thread Malt, just imagine I've liked every single one of them

takes 5 yrs, and you need to harvest after the dry season. (around march/april time) the alkaloids are at their highest then...so i've heard. Been growing peyote for around 20+ yr now. have a 25yr old, and a couple of 15+ yr olds left of many grown, aswell as around 20 yearlings on my window sill. and a good seed stock to plant when i can be arsed... Yokel Great stuff not something I'd have the patience for though
-
You ever grow one of those little buttons out to a size worth using Yokel? Takes years doesn't it?
-
Had a mate that did the same, holed up in his room for a month or so with a bottle of liquid (1000 doses give or take), thought the was captain of a huge pirate ship steering through stormy seas. He was actually just sat at his desk in his pants that was one hell of a come down but he's as normal as you could expect now years later
-
i would agree with malt and say no. unless you know a very knowledgeable person, and i don't mean some fug nut who likes getting out his head, who can guide you, sensibly thru a series of mild doses. but to go out, on your own.. leave it alone... Yokel Definitely a decent level headed sitter would be an absolute must
-
Personally I'd say you'd most likely be fine, just keep a few benzos on hand to abort the trip if things start getting too much for you...
-
as an older, more frazzled psychonaut these days, low doses are the order of the day. i love working with the trip, rather than allow it to totally take control...knowing your limitations is something learnt thru age definately... Yokel Definitely, far too old for the face melting, mind bending trips of my younger years
-
Low doses of Libs always reminds me of being incredibly stoned on really good weed. The sort of stoned I'd get years ago before I built up my ridiculous tolerence
-
Can range from no real visual effects at very low dose, tracers and slight warping at middling doses all the way to full blown hallucinations at serious doses.
-
Sounds like my first time on Libs put a few of us off for a good while... These days I just like a nice weak brew now and then, just enough to warp things slightly and have me giggling like a loon at nothing in particular
-
caps will be out soon enough, and i would suggest to someone with no experience of hallucinogens, they are far from gentle, especially if you get the dose wrong. 1 to 2 grams of dried shroom brewed into a tea will be mild enough, but still need to be shown utmost respect... Yokel Definitely, care needs to be taken and respect shown with any psychedelics, didn't mean to imply otherwise. Would always suggest having an experienced pal there for your first time too
-
Thank f**k you decided not to try Salvia the only good thing going for it is that the trip is over quick. Never known anyone to have a pleasant time on it...
-
Nice and gentle?? They rank up there with some of the most powerful, nothing gentle about them IMO.. Well I didn't tell him to eating fistfulls of the things I've never had a real dark and scary trip on Libs like other more hardcore Psychs, always had a soft fluffy feel to the trip. That and the fact it's really easy to moderate your dose makes them ideal for beginners, IMO.
-
If you're really interested in them get out picking some Liberty Caps next autumn, they're a nice gentle psychedelic to start off with see if they're for you One of those things you can't ever really understand without trying for yourself, IMO

If It's Not Homicidal Seagulls, It's Killer Badgers !
BGD replied to Blackbriar's topic in General Talk
I remember once as a young teen stumbling home drunk down a narrow alley way when a whole family of badgers came barreling down it towards me, before I had a chance to get out the way they took my legs out from under me and just kept going -
Don't know what you're talking about I've been splitting dogs like that for years and I'm fine, here's my hand to prove it Honestly if you're quick and confident you'll be fine, not something to be attempted if you're not both of those things though
-
In a pinch you can use your hands in a similar way to a breakstick, grab the top and bottom jaw and get your fingers between the teeth where you'd normally put the breakstick and pry them apart, has never failed for me and I've never been bit when doing it
-
There is no actual law against carrying one and I don't think it's ever been tested in court, could look bad like trenchfoot was saying but no one can really know for sure. Having them lying around the house along with a few history books on APBTs could definitely be used as evidence against you in an animal fighting case though Personally I'd say if you're not confident using your hands to pry them apart and feel it may be needed then carry on, it can always be fecked off into a bush before the law get there...

Did you see his response to Blairs criticism of him on the news? Was brilliant

What are lads that run the same ground as you running and having success with? That's the logical place to start when thinking about your first lurcher

Fitter Type English Bull Terrier
BGD replied to gull terrier's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I dont think they are any more competetive than any other part of Britain........would you not agree that a lot of the relative success the Irish have had with sporting animals, particularly dogs.......has a lot to do with the freedom they have regards to laws and the open spaces etc compared to somewhere like London ? Same with America, a lot easier to find the true greats in a line when you can keep a yard of 100 dogs like some of the big names over there. Can't imagine that ever being possible in England.
