    Thanks for replying and for the advice, much appreciated After I posted the question I realised that I may have offended some that make the beautifull hand crafted catapults that are posted on here, but my intention is to try it first, to see if the catapult is for me and then to invest in some of the one offs and bespoke pieces so apologies for any offence that I may have caused I have very very thick skin ...     I grew up using a catty ,, I never saw many gypsys in the minning village I grew up in ..but I did make the wooden lead moulds .. I used to shoot anything with my catty from house sparrows off roof for ferrets ... Even had catty wars with my own made catty against my mate with his black widow.. only 1.77 airgun pellets could be shot at each other but they hurt like hell on arse .. why would you want to pay over odds for a catty..

    For me collie x is bread for herding sheep ... apbt was bread to fight having more jaw power + all the other things needed to fight ,,, while I like both types of lurchers .. Ive seen with my own eyes which works best on foxes.... while I realy like the collie x It has not got the tools for the job of killing foxes..Ive seen good collie x's too with great heart but to be fair they are not in same league as a good bullx on fox... Its a bit like a middle weight fighting a heavy weight you admire the middle weight but something tells you who's going to win in end ... I am taking the best collie

    I just thought I should post this so people know that its not leagal what the rspca are doing ? If they(rspca) have broken the law by doing this can they be charged by police?

    I was told this today that rspca had taken a blokes lurcher because it had signs that it had taken fox? He let them into his house they said he would maybe go to court or just have the dog reholmed?? He chose to have the dog rehomed is this realy how they work?Has anyone else had this happened, I said they have had his pants down ,,bullied him with fear of courts

    Hi bud. Do you know exactly how he did it? I have tried alsorts with both rabbit hare and deer skins, using, saltpetre, borax, tbags, oak bark, etc, and i can never get them completly soft at the end of the process. I have heard the red indians used to chew the hides I just used salt nd scraped it off with any skin .. no expert but I moved it every day for a weeks and re salted it ,, Did they dry quite soft and supple though Micckey? It was years ago. I moved it about didnt let it set stiff scrapped it then re salted it, If you leave them too long they set rock hard ...
