whats your money on socks? ive never seen people hunt with birds so i dont know feck all about it. a good experiencend ferreting dog would be on a bolting rabbit quick though. I don't know mate it will be very close ... Rules are the dog and bird must be on the edge of the warren not letting the dog hover over a hole otherwise that would be pointless ... Thing is the goshawk can hear a rabbit coming the same as the dog can so its going to be close .......... wont the dog attack the bird if its first to the kill,or is the dog trained with the bird

Your spot on Jim..what was once rare are commoner nowadays but many of the once popular such as Blackcaps,Linnets,Redpolls,Reed Buntings Etc ain't nowhere near as abundant as they once were infact I can't even recall the last time I sen a Blackcap?..and a Tree Sparrow lol..we even have an Osprey up here but not a fecking chance you'd find a Tree Spuggy haha i find reed buntings in abundance,plus 4 blackcaps nests last season and 3 linets nests only a seconds away from my house,the reed buntings arnt to far and me and a mate also found a few whitethroats which i could never find as a kid
