  1. Yep. covered it with grass and leaves.
  2. That's what I reckon, but surely the inside of a trap should be the last thing they see? Unless some do-gooder has caught it and released locally.
  3. I have been wondering why we have an endless supply of foxes in our garden and now I know why. The Doris whose garden backs onto ours feeds them every single night and they must use my garden as a route to her garden, having a dump on the way through most nights. She feeds them jam or honey sandwiches, laced with some powder she gets from the fox-huggers to treat them for mange. I have managed to trap 5 so far, but now we have a sneaky one I can't seem to catch and I wondered if anyone had any tips on how to catch it. I have tried loads of baits - jam sandwiches, for obvious reasons,

  6. If they truly believed that your pellet had hit someone, they would have taken your gun there and then, as that is a proper criminal offence. What a load of . They make up these blatant lies to get a response. As you say, at 20m, they'd probably be in hospital, not whinging about the noise. As far as the noise complaint, unless you have your target attached to a metal bucket, that is also rubbish. As you know persistent noise complaints are investigated by some council jobsworth with a microphone, and I doubt he would have much to record. Just make sure you don't stop doing what you are leg
  7. Might be worth pointing out to them that you are doing it safely, just to save any unnecessary aggro. I didn't with my neighbours but then I don't even talk to them.
  8. I have had just this a couple of times. Last time when my boy was zeroing in his new scope. Only took a few shots and next thing we had old bill complete with blue lights outside. I asked them in to see the safety precautions we had taken (backstop etc.) and they went off quite happily to tell the nosey neighbour we were doing nothing wrong. You are 100% within your rights to shoot in your own garden as long as you take the necessary precautions to stop any pellet leaving your boundary. (and that includes any ricochets!) Enjoy your plinking.
  9. Were you wearing boxing gloves when you rolled that?
  10. Mine was 8 weeks from application to visit, then 7 weeks from visit till cert came through. Metropolitan Police.
  11. Obviously the poor guy had no idea of their true intentions. If he knew for certain they were just going to burgle him then let the insurance pay up, but who knows what they intended to to do him or his wife? I truly hope he is not punished, but in my book, even if he was, it would be far, far better than letting anything happen to his family.
