  10. read some past posts...............theres loadsa good solid info on hear
  11. the first 6 months they are like sponges and take it all in.......... then training tends to slow...and deaf ears are common!!!!! I supose you can liken it to dog adolesence. They never forget what you teach them in their first 6 months and come good usually after a month or so...dont loose patients and keep drilling in the commands......if she dont do as she told...walk her on a lead for 2 nights...she soon get pissed off and learn to do as she's told
  12. nay bother matey...kepp it clean and will heal within a week............................ pad injuries tend to look worse than they are and do heal very quickly
  13. I had a working ESS called harvey which worked along side my lurchers.......... perferct team. He was traiend along side them as pup..and at 12 months old he worked klike a seasoned pro...... brilliant he was.. he would not enter deep cover if nothing was home.....and his nose was well tuned in to rabbits and reds.....
  14. i totally agree with this statement permission is very hard to come by and easy to loose................. my doggin pals consist of a very small close knit circle of friends who share the same interest.... I'll take anyone out for a shine on the scutts........buts thats yer lot too many folk I know have been shafted by taking in a newcomer...........some of these super grasses have even been hands-on................................ mentioning no names Sad state of affairs I know.................... a 16 boy can have gay sex with a man 3 times his age...(thats legal).......
  15. perfectly natural..................... its a possession related reaction.....its his bone....he dosnt want you to have it.......but when push comes to shove...........he looses his bollocks .........if he's not snapping at you and you can handle his food whilst he's eating.........then let him growl his little pecker off
  16. lokks a powerfull and switched on dog....................big isnt always best though.....I'd be more interested in it working capabilitys aposed to its size. too right small racey type sometimes better if they got the prey drive ect , check dog and bitch are doing on a regular basis , seen big heavy bull xs that cant catch a pig in a sty , should have said anything faster than a pig , in a sty of course yep... I have to agree big bully types are sometimes fit for feck all apart form throwing in at the end of a dig.......... Over a full courisng grey or similar, and would

  18. this is lady my minshaw bitch that I've ahd for about 8 months............... shes probably the the best I'll ever get to an 'all round' working lurcher... she marks, and ferrets well, ......she'll run a lamp all night retrieves back to hand live.................. she's just 2 years old and is extremely game .................................. I have never owned such a devoted and loyal dog............she is a pleasure to own. I'll take my hat off to the man who bred her - Don Smith of Tindsley - all credit to you my man
  19. some of the best I've seen for a long time...superb....looking very mature for 12 months old............really bully arent they......... best of luck...will be interested to see how perform in time... wow.... they are a credit to you my man .
  20. 3/8 5/8 quite a common average....tehy are never all the same but should be racey with a a bit more wieght, Ideally suited for bigger quarry, but just as good on large n small big ears
  21. cracking looking bitch............................. basic obedience and socializing should help..............she clearly has got alot of prey drive, and this is a good thing if shes destined for a working life........................ she just need to learn what and not what to srew into the ground! Electeric collar could knull this prey drive, if she thinks she gonna get zapped everytime she pinns something
  22. of course they can......................................... no different to any other dog
