  1. The PCB coasters sell quite well. I put them on ebay from time to time. I was just looking to expand, and the only thing left from my rabbits (other than heads and feet) are the jackets. I'll get a skin and make two coasters. One with the acrylic top and one with the fur visible. I just wouldn't bother making them if there is no interest. Cheers for the feedback too!
  2. Bit off topic from ferrets, but very much rabbit related, and it's you guys I am targeting as my selling point, so, just have a read at this link and let me know what you think. You are my market research! http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/295568-cupglass-coasters-and-mats/?do=findComment&comment=3283054 Mods: If this isn't really allowed, then just let me know, but I'm keen to know what ferreters and rabbiters think of this idea, and some might not pop over to the Craft section. Cheers, BB
  3. Of course the mat would be waterproof in the sense that the skin is cured and made waterproof, but the hairy furry bit was on about. That part of the pelt. Would you want to be able to feel the texture or do you just want the agouti colouring inside an acrylic plastic case. To explain what I do with the circuit boards. I take an old PCB (printed circuit board) and remove any large components (resisters etc). If you have ever looked inside anything electronic, it is the green slab with wires in it. I then use a spray painted acrylic on the surface to make it 100% watertight and flat. It means t
  4. As a spin off money earner I make coasters from almost anything. This includes fabric ones from scrap material, circuit boards for the geeky type and other plastic materials I can set into acrylic. I was wondering about rabbit skin or deer skin tops. So my questions are: A) would you buy/take interest in them if I could make them for a reasonable price? would you expect them to be waterproof or covered in acrylic? (my idea was so you have a cured rabbit skin coaster, where you can still see and feel the fur properly, but it may mean spillages from drinks stain, absorb or rot the coas
  5. He's a genius too! The kits are 4th Generation, making the parents 3rd gen! Well done him! I don't quite think they are 4th generation, ferrets have been around alot longer than 4 generations!
  6. Good luck. People will be giving them away this time of year. Nice looking litter though bud. Plenty of them! How many jills they from?
  7. what do you use for bedding ?I use shavings. Bulk buy them, or get them for free if you can. Mine cost about 5 quid and last months. They're big horse shavings bails. They good value for money.
  8. Shouldn't really use hay or straw. Its poor bedding material in that it harbours parasites, causes irritation (such as dust inhalation, bits getting caught in their eyes etc.), and generally just should never be used. Use a dust reduced wood shaving. Even if this doesn't solve the eye problem, it will definitely help with your ferrets general health. Atb, BB
  9. Mink rafts bud. Do some research on them yourself, and see if it's plausible to try it. Any questions, ask away once you've looked it up. I'll answer best I can, but I don't have huge amounts of knowledge on mink. Atb, BB
  10. If you let me know a weight, I can work out a courier price. North of the wall (amongst the white walkers if you watch A Game of Thrones!) is a bit far for me to travel! I'm in Oxford. Or if there is somewhere to buy them online? Cheers, BB
  11. How much bud? Where you located and whats the weight? Will work out postage. Cheers.
  12. From? Wanna "acquire" me one?
  13. Alright bud. Where did you get that plastic sheeting? That would be ideal for my stinkers too! I assume it's on of those collapsible ones? I need a run that I can flat pack so it's out of the way when not in use. Cheers, BB
  14. Im not Bunny Boiler on eBay, so it wasnt me!
  15. I have the more legitimate looking name You, are the imposter. Haha.
  16. Wait a minute... I dont remember posting this...
  17. was missing the perch mate , will try that tomorrow and i'll throw more meat in ... will a dead pigeon do as bunnies are scarce around here?I would stick to un-feathered carrion that you can cut open, but I see no reason why not. Corn and any other food will work. Or if you can get a call bird, that is ideal.
  18. Make sure the meat is changed every couple of days. Warm weather, makes it go a bit manky quickly. Although corvids eat carrion, fresh carrion is more appealing. Open the door to it and prop it open for a few days bud. The birds will land and walk into it. This will get them used to it. Then shut the door when you see bait being taken and hopefully you'll catch. Remember, always leave 2-3 in there as a natural set of call birds. Also, don't kill them in front of each other. Park a car near by and walk round the other side, bang over the head and drop. Take next one. Repeat. This will mean that
  19. Anything that requires a specific pH it will work with. If it grows, and you don't want it to and KNOW it needs a specific pH, then add barley straw. Will alter the pH to affect the plant that needs a niche, and not your common plants. If you wanna get really professional, you can add salts to send the pH the other way, but this is done after taking a pH test of the current water (decomposing straw makes it acidic, adding certain salt makes it more alkali). Hope this helps. BB
  20. My son's dog pissed on the carpet, so I rubbed his face in it. Then I lifted him up and said, "Control your f*****g animal."

    1. PIL

      PIL

      I blame the parent's.lol

  21. If it is excessive weed and it's the floating slimy stuff, then grab a pair of waders and a pool net and get the majority of it out. I believe Monty Don (who I personally find irritating) has done a tv programme on it recently. Worth watching. Then take a small amount of straw (theres quite a specific measurement for pond size, again, google it) and bundle it together. Throw this in the pond. The decomposing will slightly alter the pH but it is enough to prevent the weed growing back. You could always put feeders out with pellets and grit. This will encourage ducks and other birds in (free lun
  22. Agreed, ticked me off a tad too. For a start no guarantee it would get its target, could end up being some of our endangered British wildlife, and second to want to inflict such pain on a living thing leaves a lot to be desired about the individual. If the cats are strays and causing an issue, fair enough trap and either remove or dispatch humanely, Just be certain all the trapped ones are defo strays as if its a pet and microchipped theres a possibility if owners found out they can go as far as civil court and sue for destruction of property. Personally I'd drive the fuckers to a shelter a
  23. Fairly certain (think I read it somewhere) that a cat is "owned" by whoever's property it currently stands on. A bit like deer. Livestock that are tagged and dogs are the only animals that are still owned by someone when not on their land. Of course, the police will just tell you to give it back if a cow walks into your garden and it isn't tagged, but actually you can kill the cat humanely provided its on your property. I may have just made this up, so its worth reading up on, but I'm % certain that its true. Cats aren't strictly domesticated as they often roam free.
  24. Posted that at the same time then! And how did I remember it in school? That bloody Hasting's Direct advert... Oh Eight Hundred, Double Oh, Ten Sixty Six! (0800 00 1066)
  25. Hastings was in 1066, that's about all of my knowledge for that year!
