  5. always know when they are on mate ,as for what lurcher...............il tell you what i dont want and thats a bull x or to travel 3 hours to view a young bitch which had clearly had a litter recently, or 200 miles to view a dog with an undershot jaw,or another 300 miles for a dog that knows its job when in all honesty it done feck all to impress me and i gave it back free of charge, dont want a pup out of a 2 year old sire and a dam thats prob not seen a field and i certainly dont want one of those mate of a mate getting rid of a dog type where in reality the things better off with granny dow
  6. never mate,i ask them nicely as pups when im starting them out, never needed to tell them twice
  7. theres something about the frost crunching under foot just does it for me think im a fecking weirdo to be honest
  8. plenty about,they spaniel/terriers cheers
  9. still cold with a good frost here today so put couple miles into the dogs, last time i walked this bit land it was heaving with cover seems someone has got other ideas. from this to this last bit that been left was holding plenty, not very often we bolt 3 muntys and a fox out the same bit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJiorm9qDHM sooner i get a lurcher the better but keeps them fit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6x_c5_Lgkc
  10. never see the bitch in the flesh mate so wouldnt know
  11. sounds perfect for what you do mate, but even travelling for a field or two is already to far for my needs lol
  12. i wouldnt be suprised mate iv owned a couple good uns over the years,i did have a saluki/grey x collie/whip few years ago lost her at a young age unfortunately but looked to have the potential for anything id ever need, anyways all food for thought cheers
  13. iv noticed with my own and few others iv seen that the spaniel/terriers dont tend to go deep in areas of large cover. theres one place i go that has bit cover probably about acre in size i know for a fact they aint worked that whole patch when they come out,if they get on something they will follow on obviously no matter how deep the cover is but they seem to have this in built stray meter which brings them back in to you rather than range out doing their own thing. most the land i hunt you can walk around and along the cover while the dogs work it up so never seen it as a problem.....

  15. they certainly suit the type cover round here with no fecking about, make my life easy cheers
  16. sounded off the cuff my comment, but when i started out 25 year ago with heavily blooded saluki type lurchers they did very well, couple lads i ran out with also had these types and would also do well so maybe the way forward..............although in reality im going backwards lol,but certainly not got the need or inclination to ever own another bull x cheers
  17. I'm done with bull xs mate they to injury prone for the land round here, lot flint hard going, better off with a saluki type

Stoater is spot on very clever birds,, very clever indeed this may sound daft but its true A CROW WILL REMEMBER WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE WHAT YOU WEAR WHAT YOUR CAR LOOKS LIKE one of my perms has three rookery's on it and a car can go by and they dont even lift but when i drive by youd think you were in a Hitchcock film the birds all hell brakes out same when i walk by even with out a rifle the sky just turns black lol VERY CLEVER BIRDS ATVBJIMMY  actualy takes 3 blokes to shoot crow from it's nest site lol, they can only count up to two,go
  22. Rook and kidney pie is lovely believe it or notthey would tie the youngsters to the nest years ago then harvest them when they were ready to fledge, good eating apparently
  23. well thats how i felt this morning on my walk out with the bushers lol,not a soul as far as the eye could see so i used the morning to venture somewhere else for a change of scenery. walked about 6 miles with the dogs working up hedgegrows, woodland, old reed beds and some heavy cover so quite varied. few bunnies we have picked up this last month or so all had myxi so nice to get a good healthy one for a change although they dont catch many in cover we get the odd one, pressure of a third dog working it may of helped time will tell but more than welcome when i got no runner in tow.
