  11. found this on the floor in the middle of the woods the other evening guessing it was probably exhausted and made no attempt to get away when i picked it up and although there were numbers etc on the foot rings there was no address stamped on the wing feathers which i have found on a few birds over the years, even had a courier pick one up from me once as well when i informed them i found the bird. anyway put this one up on the tree out of harms way and when i checked early morning it was gone,no signs of it being taken by a predater so might well have made it home who knows? my question is wo

  14. took the dog up the local fields last night she loves getting in under the rape and pushing out a few bunnies but as we neared the main road i put her back on the lead walked another 100m or so along the hedgerow with the road on the other side when she started showing signs of something, you know the way they tell you somethings close that you are unaware of,ears pricked up scenting the air, anyway looked around and not 20m away there she stood,we just stared at each other for a few minutes before she went back down in the rape and away great to see in the early evening and only the fourth one
  15. Were these adult birds? Were they plucked at all too? I know they take young birds when they can and definitely capable of rabbits but I am now really unsure on their ability to take phessies adults regularly. no not adults they are newly released poults and you can regularly find half a dozen been killed in the immediate area not fully plucked either just enough to get them opened up intestines usualy still hanging out of them
  16. i find a lot of carcasses around the pens on the land where i rough shoot(i dont shoot near the pens obviously) all seem to have their guts still in them but the choice bits have been removed im told by the keeper this is characteristic of buzzards taking them
