  1. 5 months old its still young, id say handle it ALOT more, feed it then play with it, spit on your hand, just keep at it mate, its not right culling a ferret at 5 months, if you havent the time or patients dont keep them, 5 months is still early thats all im saying !

And that's where you'll set your wires yep like said set the snares mate, other than that try and make a few lines/ sections - get rid of the brambles or what ever a few days before you plan on ferreting it, use longnets gate nets ect but would be alot easier if you had another pair of hands aswel ! good luck with it though ATB FTS
  4. iv ferreted since a young boy either with friends or family but most on my own,in 20 yerars of ferreting iv only lost 1 ferret, iv locators/collars ect and if im honest i rearly use them ( i always take it) only in certain cicumstances will i defo use it, if a ferret kills below it comes out quick, as i try to get the feeding right before i take the ferret out, other than that ill collar the other ferret up and get a point to dig from that, before times when I didnt have a locator and a ferret made a kill and didnt come out by dark, i would block all the holes then return the next morning,

  8. if youv got anywhere to ferret, ill take a drive down and show you how I ferret ect, iv ferret/terrier - for bushing and marking ect purse nets/longnets/gatenets ect ect ect, try and find some land and ill pop down, other than that iv a little permission in somerset, if you want to tag along in a months time ? !   12. im sure if you drive around the countryside asking farmers, eventally youl get some new permission, you may 19 no's and 1 yes thats the way it goes, most farmers are grumpy fcukers, but you get the odd few that are ok, and if your offering a few quid or some whisky at christmas ect ect im sure in time youl get what your looking for, try farmers weekly aswel ATB foxtails

  17. iv got a 3/4 lake land + 1/4 russel and should be about 7kgs . but is 11kgs iv tried giving less food with alot more exercise, even more exercise , but she just doesnt loose the weight, its driving me nuts, i took her out a couple weeks back, ( saying that.....it was quite still hot ) but she kept lying in the grass untill i got to her then running/hunting ect last year she was about 8-9kgs at very most, has anyone any ideas has to how i can get the weight off her ? thanks in advance ATB FTS
