  1. If your going 6ft + you would need to sink a much bigger pit than 2 x 2. Not to bad in sand if you got the time.
  2. The few times I have seen lads use a full length .410 its been a royal pain in the arse in a dig and hardly professional. A .410 pistol is ideal
  3. Oh yes, when its good its great, when its bad its a proper bummer  I doubt I would dig 14ft for a collar, are you from 'Yorkshire'?
  4. I didnt realise that Blaise, I thought it was a brand, that's a big job with lots of hounds.
  5. I couldn't watch all that to be honest, it was a bit painful. Your obviously well keen, but just chill out on the lamping till the bitch is ready.
  6. Welcome to my world, big deep sandy warrens can be tedious when they go bad
  7. http://www.gamefair.fr/accueil/bienvenue-239.html Never been to the CLA but id say big as or bigger than the midland? Without being a car boot sale... although scroll down on the link and click "vide grenier" which is empty your loft - car boot sale! LOL Pens upon pens of hounds all varieties. I agree WAZ its no where near the size of the CLA and I doubt the Midland either. Topper if your into your hounds its great Your ears will be ringing with hunting horns after a day lol Lots of good shooters especially for driven game, very few terriers. Loire is a lovely area and t
  8. Interesting spot for a bit of rabbit catching, love places like that always a new challenge.
  9. Shouldn't really moan nothings as bad as frozen ground, just this wet is hard work!
  10. Yeah the rabbits have been there if you know where to look. The lamping has been poor due to the amount of water laying on the fields for weeks, not much sitting out.
  11. Whippet I think I know the village you mean it had a rough time last year too! I must admit the ferreting hasn't been too bad this year, but lamping been kak.
  12. Never known it so bad, the land last night was clay, and had maybe a inch of water just laying on top!
  13. This wet weather is killing the lamping at moment is anyone else finding this? The rabbits just don't seem to be sitting out in these wet fields, and I don't blame them. Had to walk some miles squelching through water logged fields last night for barely double figures! Just hope it dries up soon
  14. Nice spot of country and good sport.
  15. more likely than not to win the lottery but bad shit if it does effect your dog True, 17 deaths from 8.5 million dogs in the country so best to be aware but I think the media are whipping up a panic as usual.
  16. The thing is when you look at the amount of cases it's very very unlikely you own dog will come into contact with it.
  17. Most entertaining dog I have seen lamping was a whippet, superb to watch. But won't handle it like a larger more robust Lurcher IMO. The size and skin are a draw back for me and the terrier like attitude some have.
  18. Cant stand watching football.........other than the odd worldcup game maybe, but that more for the drink in the pub
  19. Cheer's mate, she's coming on ok picking up a few bit's and bob's along the way How's your youngster doing . . . Any up to date pic's ? I will have to post a few up, he's been doing well on the training front, looks like a gangly bloody teenager lol
  20. It's just increasing the odds in your favour We have enough against us just raising and schooling a pup as it is, so anything which increases the chances has got to be a blessing I wouldn't use Hancock for a pup on the grounds I don't like to condone or contribute towards puppy farming. I personally would look for a litter from two Hancocks or similar types already doing the business, but that's just me. And yes I have seen several which have been good dogs.
  21. Compared to when I was a nipper we had more locally, now we still have enough but not plague proportions.
  22. Always a good way to spend a few hours! The youngster looks just like her Ma just racer, lovely long neck!
