    What do you want a blue peter badge ? To my way of thinking " a hero " is usually a person who doesnt know or claim to be one.............not a person who tries to tell people thats what they are. Cases like that make some people not trust the police and intentionally break the law. Irrespective of how many coppers he was sleeping with, he rang up in good faith to report a criminal offence, followed the instructions, then got hung out to dry.     I know you're not I had a look at the Scottish licenses but tbh it's so confusing I don't think even the police know what's what. I'm aware of birds being protected, unless certain conditions are met ie. species, is it for pest control etc. With regards to everything else, there's a licence for this and a licence for that. Children have to ask permission before doing something, that's the way we are being treated courtesy of successive governments who haven't got a clue.
