I'd go for a pup but I have recently picked up a 3 yr old deerhound x bull grey but I only took it cos it was of a close mate and I had seen the dog out in field and had spent time with it so I knew it well but I would prefer a pup

yeah mate just take your time do some reaserch and maybe go see some more exsperianced people who have owned lurchers a while. There are lots of different crosses to consider but you have to get a dog that suites you best and it also depends on what ground you are working on and what you are hunting so just take a look around and don't rush into anything cos you may end up with something you can't handle atb mate good luck choosing a dog

I understand what's going on lads there is alot of people round my way who can't control their aggresive dogs. It's annoying cos you have to pick your walking spots like it's a f*cking army mission. I don't mind if aggresive dogs off lead as long as they have a muzzle on but none of the dogs round my way do it is dangerous cos my younger sister sometimes walks the dog with me she is 5 yr old.
