    Hi Steve,I use a Nikon D80,and the lens that I used for these photo's was an 18-135mm.I've only had it for a while,and,it is fantastic.I am saving up for a Macro lens now(very expensive)so I can take even better close-ups.

    Got up this morning and found a dead chick,must of tried to fly a bit too soon.......... Then went for a walk with the pup 'Scrap' and took some photo's of some creepy crawlies....... Firstly a 'Lily Beetle'.......... Then a 'Click Beetle' (seems to be a lot about this year...... Then a snail eating 'Silpha Atrata' Then(XX rated)a pair of 'Shield Bugs' aving it off! And the first of the flowering 'Common Spotted Orchid'......... All this and I was being watched from afar............. All in all a very nice walk on the common.

    I've had quite bad tinitus for 20+ years,started in the slaughterhouse with all of the metal on metal noise.Mine is a jet type noise as well as yours.I seem to be able to ignore it most of the time until,I get reminded of it and then it's like a whistle going off in my ear.I have also heard about low level white noise helping,and,I think it is done with the help of some kind of hearing aid that produces the noise.I'm not sure that it will help you hear better though.Please let us know how you get on,as there seems to be quite a few of us,all scared to go to the quacks.

    Just be calm,and as you know the job it should be easy.And if you live near me and can't cope with all your new ferreting permission that you gain,give me a ring and I'll gladly help out.

    One thing I've found is that on a night that is moonlit,but,has a fair bit of cloud,and is windy to the point that the clouds a shooting across the sky,giving you moonlight every few seconds does seem to give Charlie a false sense of security(that's my findings anyway). I've shot plenty of foxes under all types of conditions though,but,as John said,if they are educated to the lamp then you will have trouble,and,you need to use your best calling techniques to get a result.     I'm pretty sure you can stake it out in a place that is used by foxes,and,wait for the fox from a distance.That is what I shall be trying anyway.

    I had a phone call about 2000hrs from a distraught lady ,saying that her son has two ferrets that he has been neglecting.She asked if I could help her out as the son has not been feeding or watering them,and she couldn't as she was petrified of them .When I heard that they had no water I just asked where she was,and drove staight over and picked them up.The Poley hob looked in fine fettle,but,the poley jill that is probably pregnant,doesn't look quite so well.I gave them a bowl of milk,and they drank for about 5 minutes ,I let them have a run around the yard for a while,and then popped
