    I got a phone from a farmer who said he had a few chickens killed the previous night, and had seen a fox close by I told him I would be up later on. Went into the coup to have a look and I nearly £&@£ myself!!! It was a stoat!!! Closed the door and ran back to get my shotgun, opened the door once loaded up hid behind the door and allowed it to be in a safe area to be shot.     Out on one of my new permissions this evening, managed to take two rabbits in the spaec of half a hour, good little stalk. Both shot at 37 yards pellet entered the eye on both of them. Then went into one of the farmers sheds and took these four ferals all heart/ lung shots.

    Evening all Well am over the moon having gained a few permissions for air rifle and shotgun shooting. plus managed to get into two syndicates for this year. any way was out on thursday to get the tour of one of the permissions which is a poultry farm so pop along this morning to see what was about. seen a lot of crows and pigeons will be hitting them hard (hopefully) LOL Was just walking up the sheds walkways seen a rabbit well its white rump poping around of the end of one of the sheds, got to the end had a wee peek, was about 30 yards so used the side of the shed a rest

    From reading your post here Stuart, it does appears you do pest control and therefore, a degree of shooting, for a living Stuart. That's good. A farmer generally expects that you will be simply wanting to go shoot and hunt on his land, in exchange for culling the pests that blight his business. Thus, he gives you and me and the other lads here permission to do so. Seems you have offered him favours in unpaid skilled labour, above and beyond anyone else's reasonable expectation, to secure shooting rights here mate?! That's probably why he's wondering, you see old lad! Simon F

    What I meant with this was, I offer my pest control services as that's what my Job is, do said I would top up his poisons etc and in return would he allow me to walk about dispatching crows magpies etc in return, he then asked why would I want to do it for free?

    Even all was out this afternoon having a walk about me new permission to get the lay of the land etc. when this roe buck came along to say hello, it nearly jumped right into me. just shows how good i was hidden managed to bag a woodie
