  1. John Your round top entry trap there is actually a crayfish trap, but could easily be used as a sparrow trap it being similar to the GILPA sparrow trap in size and manufacture. I have not seen any top entry type rat traps in my researching - perhaps they are, as you say, just too clever, or too suspicious to go in in the fist place OTC
  2. I will bring you a Young's Auto box mouse trap over for you to look at when I next see you John - same principle but slightly different OTC
  3. Cheers fellas! Been away for a few days without I-net access OTC
  4. Sounds about right, maybe £15 if 2 people were keen on it If you want them look on ebay.com in the US - you can buy them by the box load from there. They were used as light fox traps or mink traps in the US but they are illegal to use here Looking at the plate stamp it is a Northwood #2 trap OTC

  12. I have got a box of original Juby traps from the 1950's that have never been used and they are still stored set as they were sent - the springs on them are as strong as the day they were made That says a lot really OTC
  13. Feral cats are fair game in this case, by live cage trapping or shooting. A live catch trap would help you to make sure that someone's 'fireside' moggy is not caught before dispatch. I have found that kippers are a good bait in the summer, they don't tend to get flyblown as quick as other baits. Cats, as you know, will cause you as much grief as a hungry vixen and normal anti fox measures around the pen won't deter them either OTC
  14. They are not long hatched - they still have the egg tooth on their beaks. I miss them, they always reminded me of little bees buzzing about on the hatcher trays ... OTC
  15. Nice aren't they? That's a cock bird by the way, used to keep 'one or two' back in the day OTC
  16. I have also seen them in strips, used to attach wire netting to straining wires. You need a proper tool or they can be fiddly to say the least! Not sure if they would hold the cage edges close though John, they might be a bit 'rickety' if assembled with these but they are strong. OTC
  17. Yes - they are good quality British made traps Aidy OTC
  18. Having bred hundreds of thousands of partridges I would very much like to see the result of this outcross if it were possible, which I doubt OTC
  19. If anyone is even remotely curious how the infamous 'Leitrim Experiment' finally turned out then look here into Ditch's 'Blog from the Bog' http://ditchshitter.blogspot.com/2009/06/l...r.html#comments OTC
  20. IMO Atlantic Stratford traps = junk Try buying the real thing - they will last for ages and what's more, they are actually legal to use OTC
