That'sall down to you troy you done a crackin' job rearing them
I was out again tonight this time Jimmy and Tam where shooting,we found it
hard to get near the rabbits, and only got the 7.
Lurcher to lurcher bred Lindsay,a mixture of greyhound, whippet, bedlington, collie and bull.
Just looking out of the window at the moment, might take a walk out tonight again, the
wind is gusting and the showers are a mixture of rain, sleet and snow.
Aye I got her Lindsay, called her Amy,below is a pic of her.
Did you have any joy getting a Whippet/beddie?
We should have had a few more rabbits last night Think it might be worth it
if Jimmy had a zeroing session.
lamper/gatherer QUOTE-or what i always use the purple vet spray (cant remember name)what they use on sheep, keeps the flies away too.
Alamycin aerosol-indicated for the treatment of foot rot and topical infections in cattle,
sheep and pigs.
Jimmy and I where out with the lamp and the air rifle again tonight, this time I lamped and
Jimmy shot with his Air Arms S410.The wind was gusting making it hard for Jimmy to keep the
rifle steady, well that's the excuse he gave me.It was drizzling as well which he said was making his scope steam up
Anyway after four and a half magazines had been put through the rifle we ended the session with
nine rabbits, should have been a lot more but there will be other times.
Congratulations Dale, all the best to you, your wife and the wee yin
Are you looking forwards to the dirty nappies and the sleepless nights It's all worthwhile :thumbs-up:
A man had just settled into his seat next to the window on the plane when another man sat down in the aisle seat and
put his black Labrador retriever in the middle seat next to the man.
The first man looks very quizzically at the dog and asks why the dog is allowed on the plane.
The second man explained that he is a DEA agent and that the dog is a "sniffing dog".
"His name is Sniffer and he's the best there is. I'll show you once we get airborne, when I put him to work."
The plane takes off, and once it has levelled out, the agent says: "Watch this." He tells Sniffer to "search".
I've been out when there's been next to no wind and a good sized moon, but in these
conditions I only do blind sets.
On the last one we did we got 33 rabbits in 130 yards of netting,I was doing the banting
and on my way back to the net I could see Jimmy running along the net when I was 40 yards
away.
Much prefer a strong wind and a bit of drizzle But if you waited for the right night
you wouldn't be out that much.
My mate Jimmy got some new ground last week,it's only two fields but there is plenty
of rabbits there. We lamped it with the air rifle on wednesday and got eight.
Today we had a go with the ferrets at the insistance of the landowner who wanted to
come along aswell.
Well Jimmy,Tam and I met the landowner and his pal in the fields at 8am.We chose to do the open
field buries to start with,we got what we expected, young rabbits and a few lay ups.
It was hard going,by 10.30am we had 3 big rabbits and 4 wee ones[the landowner wanted them dead]
That's when I had to leave as my son plays footbal
Another version-
A teacher says to her class " Today we are going to learn about multi-syllable words, does anyone have an example?"
Little Johnny is the only one with his hand up. The teacher says " What's your example Johnny?"
" Mas-tur-bate " says little Johnny
" Wow" says the teacher " that's a bit of a mouthful!"
Little Johnny replies " No miss, you are thinking of Blo*-job!"
I had stopped about a month ago but my mate has just got some new permission
and he's wanting us to have a go with the ferrets on sunday, the owner is expecting
him to get on with the job.
My mate got some new permission the other day and he wanted to take a look
at it with the lamp last night. It's only two fields but there is a chance he might
get on some of the surrounding fields.
There were a lot of rabbits about but it wasn't easy getting near them as the night was flat calm.
My mate done the lamping and I took my Falcon Hawk,we got 8 rabbits which wasn't too bad
considering the conditions.
i said greyhounds only good over a short distance if you read my post mate. thats only 300 yards could she match it on rough ground over a longer distance chasing real game that twisting and turning? chase lures is all very well but different chasing real thing ask some of the real lurcher men? aint dissing greyhounds just think you can beat a well school lurcher if you read my post you will see thats what i said mate. real game dont run on a flat football pitch think your getting on your high horse mate take that greyhound hound and put in on real game on rough ground against a lurcher and
Lamper/gatherer i'm not surprised your getting a bit of grief, you say that you've had dogs
for 30 years but this is your first pup,why is that?
You can't beat rearing and training your own pup the satisfaction is great,of course when it
all goes wrong you've nobody to blame but yourself.
Mate i'll give you some advice,if you want to race dogs buy a greyhound.
If you want to catch rabbits buy a lurcher pup.
I've yet to see a greyhound that can work better than a lurcher or a lurcher that
can run faster than a greyhound.
So mate straighten your head out,get rid of that stupid id
