  1. Alright Lads I have a BSA lightning .22 with a Hogun decimeater silencer silencer and a TS20 Green Lamp fitted. Great gun but thinking of selling as its just sat in the house doing nothing. What should I expect to sell this for?
  2. Had a couple of offers but they have been too far away (Scotland) Going to try and meet up with a fella whos pretty local. Am not even that fussed if people didn't want me to take the dog I would happily tag along just to learn field positioning ect and learn a few tips. Am not a daft lad and I know the basics like walking into the wind ect but wouldnt mind learning a few more things and using it with my dog to bring the best out of him
  3. Cheers for the replies lads and PM's sent been really helpful. The reason I started this topic was not just for the dog but to also teach me a few things when out lamping like when to slip, where to stand in the field ect ect. I am not a complete novice but the point in the right direction would be a massive help from somebody who has done it for years. Had the dog out the other night for an hour and managed 3 runs with one resulting in a catch. His retrieve was a lot better and I think hes improving all the time. I just thought it might have helped taking him out with another more
  4. What you think i should carry on the way I am with him? Its not just for the dog to learn its also to point me in the right direction.
  5. Alright lads I have been doing a bit of work with my whippet the last few seasons with the ferrets and a little on the lamp. He has come along leaps and bounds, by no means perfect but his recall is a lot better and his retrieve is getting there. This is his first full season on the lamp and mine and he is doing well. Hes starting to figure out what the lamp actually means and I dont think he is far away now. I wouldnt mind getting him out with a more experienced dog as it might bring him along abit more and I am sure i can learn a few things too as I am not an expert. If anybo
  6. All depends exactly what you want mate. You can spend £1,000's on carp fishing stuff once you buy the rods, reels, rig, hooks, pods, buckets, bivvy, alarms ect ect. If i was just starting i would spend a few hundred quid on half decent rods ect and then just build it up from there
  7. Good fishery I have had 100lb+ bags there the past year.
  8. I purchased one and its spot on. Only use it for the rabbits with the gun but its more than capable for the dogs. I bought the red but wouldnt mind a gree or white one.
  9. Alright lads I am booked up to fish the Kingfisher lakes next week and just wanted to know what they are like and what gear to take with me. I am wanting to target the carp mainly but was a bit unsure of fishing the main lake as its supposed to be fairly hard going and might only end up with 1 fish if youm are lucky? Then i was reading and thought that lilly lake could be ok for the carp, but i dont want to be pulling small carp out all the time on heavy rods, so i might be better taking the pole and a feeder rod? Any advise?
  10. Hi all I am wanting to clean my BSA lightning .22 Barrel up. It looks a bit dull in colour compared to the rest of the gun but i am unsure on what to use? The silencer is black and i wouldnt mind trying to match it up so it looks like a continous colour rather than black and a washed out metal look. Any advise will be greatly appreciated Cheers
  11. Arrived yesterday and I can not complain Will give it a try this week
  12. Has anybody ever used something like this? Thought they might be decent especially for the money? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360937016367
  13. Cheers pal but I got sorted out. Appreciate the offer mind
  14. Ahh that's really helpful mate cheers. @35 yards it's not the best shooting zoomed right out but I didn't want to zoom in in case it effected my aim. I will get some targets out and have a mess about with different ranges and using the zoom. Pretty sure once I have got to grips with the gun and scope I will be laughing.
  15. Alright lads am fairly new to shooting and would like a few pointers. Currently have a BSA lightning and love it. Set up to 35yards and it's spot on. I have a fairly decent scope fitted and it has 9x zoom. Without sounding stupid I know if a rabbit Ect is closer you need to aim under and vice versor if it's longer away. Question I have is say a rabbit it 35yards if I zoom in does that effect where I should be aiming? Not really sure what effect the zoom has? Cheers
  16. Bit too far. Managed to get hold of an early kit from this year. Should be some where near for when I head out. It's nice and tame too
  17. Where abouts you located mate?
  18. Still a bit early round my way tbh. Am thinking it's probably going to be sept time when I will get out. Still a few small rabbits about and not much meat on them yet. Like you say everywhere overgrown but I will just set the long net up so shouldn't be an issue.
  19. Went down to check on the ferrets and my Jill has died So close to the season and such a good worker. Only left with the one now. Going to try and find another but guessing everything will be kits :/
  20. Anybody got one i can lend lads? I have one ordered but wont be here until back end of next week Wouldn't mind going out this weekend but getting paranoid about it lol
  21. Just been out for a quick 5 min walk with the gun. Very impressed with the silencer. Made the gun a lot more quiet and I managed to get a bunny for the pot
