  1. Brilliant new Sky, thank you. What do you think would be the recouperation time required before... 1) normal running on walks. 2) working, requiring no running (Say ratting for example) 3) running work
  2. Not the best news, lungs are still leaking air, so they had to drain again this morning. The vet knows that Rude has to be able to work so will not treat the dog unless he thinks he will make a 100% recovery. Thanks LG
  3. Cheers Moll, it took ages to type out last night, I think old age is getting to me I know exactly what you mean I dont think some other members really appreciate the effort it takes to write a good thread as this
  4. Serama. Notoriously hard to hatch, so a 2 chick death was 50% of that batch
  5. Wasn't there mate so can't comment. Was told about it by a chap off here that I used to hunt with before moving to Barca. As I said he told me that the bullx and the saluki put a real show on. i was there so i can comment again ...........wankers............. Ditto
  6. I shovel it out of the coops and straight onto the beds during the winter, let the ellements break it down. Have decided to keep a bed that gets no sun so cannot really grow anything just for hen poo and the black silt from the bottom of the ponds. Then i can use the soil from it to top up containers and beds
  7. Thank you very much. And thanks for that good news Spookster They have removed 4 litres of air He will be home tomorrow or Monday if all is well.
  8. Wrong! Rude boy is currently in the vets having two drainage tubes inserted for a double pneumothorax (collapsed lung) Whatever he hit, he must have hit it hard!
  9. More like the one you just made, any need for that kind of language, or can you not get your point across without having to use it?
  10. Are the schools on holiday again?
  11. My terriers get roughly 1/2lb, 30lb whippet gets 3/4 and 60lb lurcher anything from 1.5 to 2.5lb. but this can change daily, i look at the dogs and think they are putting weight on i reduce it, a bit thin, increase it. Sometimes top it up with complete food, other times dont. All depends upon their levels of exercise/work at the time. Some days they get absolutely stuffed full if eating whole rabbits or cooked food, some days they are not fed at all.
  12. Fantastic photos, you must have the patience of a saint, or nowt else to do Another area which might hold them for you, if it is still there.....the wasteland behind the new hospital. I used to take the dogs there, was a great place for them, (found an injured one below a pylon there once) skylarks and the odd rat
  13. Not always. A couple of years ago, a gamekeeper friend I had put 6 myxi rabbits in a quiet pen in a corner, on grass with shelter and the essentials covered. Within 2 weeks, the whole lot had recovered! He was lucky, or they were already over the worst and going to recover anyway. I tried one with a mixy, just to see if it could be done, got to the stage it could not eat anymore and i was going to have to force feed it...thats when i called it a day. All the research i read up on stated this would probably happen.
  14. He is one of the best Kev, goes out of his way to get newcomers out with their dogs and show them the ropes Unfortunately since some have taken advantage and gone on the land without him, he has decided to stop doing so anymore Fortunately i can nagg like the best of them, so 8 yrs down the line he is still stuck with me and mine
  15. If you do not get him a good home try here... http://www.lurcherlink.org/llink/forum/index.php?sid=b468536942461ae021408e96da2fcf25 I know they are fit to burst at the moment but would do everything to get the dog in The dog is not a happy lad, you really need him out asap.
  16. Not for me, all that money just to stay in a different room in a wood....Borrow a tent and go to the highlands, much cheaper
  17. This has got to be a wind up.......surely
  18. Had that happen a few times. Great when you hear the squeal but bloody annoying when you dont and end up just watching the rabbit disapear with no dog in sight
  19. He's a funny one He did that for the whole of his 1st season, have no idea why Now the little sod likes to kill them
