  1. Nice one, I'll give these a go in future instead of buggering about with shims and files etc. Cheers Chris.
  2. Yer right pal, Thats the only way to get a proper result for sure, good chewing some fat though, its either that or sit and watch Emerdale with the missis. Sunshine, fit the feck is that min? ;-)
  3. Nearly bought one of those, scarily accurate and superb for wabbits. Great fun putting the pills through the same hole at 100 yards and real tight groups way past that. ENJOY!
  4. Oh crap i'm confused again pal. Do you know for certain that the sofware caters for air drag on the bullet? Another important factor is the measurement between the centre of the barrel and the centre of the objective lens. This will change things too. Hypothetically speaking for example if i were to shoot Win Super X at 75 yards zero with an objective lens of 50mm with a centre to centre size of say 50mm and you were to shoot the same rimmy with the same gun but a smaller objective lens at say 40mm Centre to centre between obj lens and the centre of the bore also with a 75 yard zero we wou
  5. LMAO!!! Left yerself wide open there pal.
  6. Paulus hit the nail on the heed. I also agree the graphs are poop as the velocity at different ranges has not been catered for. Had a sare heed for a minute or two on this one. I'm going to have a go at this on the permission and report my findings, great read guys. Cheers Chris.
  7. Hey Lexie my comment on 'Al tak that as a no' was in relation to my question on changing the note on my greylag call to a pinkfoot note, a wee mix up there pal. Like you i found the vid a help as well.
  8. Hello, You still got the light? Tried to PM you but not allowing it. Chris.
  9. Hi folks, Lucky old me found my DJ greylag call after 2 weeks, left it on a wall out the road. Anyway i've been playing around with it, pushed the reed in to try and make it sound more like a pink foot but it keeps locking up. Does anyone have any advice on how i can tune it to a higher pitch without it locking up? Cheers Chris.
  10. 60 yards, i'd never shoot a bunny past 75 yards as there is a higher risk of injuring it instead of a nice clean head shot kill. I'm an average shot so maybe the more skilled snipers will disagree with this.
  11. Hows this i spent 60 quid 3 weeks ago on a duck caller and a goose caller. Those Yankie wooden jobs. The insert and reed fell out and got lost in the mud so thats it for the duck caller and a week ago i lost the goose caller. F*cked off is an understatement. Not paying that again just incase. Atb Chris.
  12. Dropped my .22lr and bent the barrel which has a mod on the end. it shot about 18 inches out and the bend was visible. I thought it was knackered but instead of shelling out money on a gunsmith (Yeah am a typical Scot lol) i got a straight edge and a steel pipe sleeve, fixed the barrel in my work vise and preceded to straighten out the barrel to the best of my ability. Stuck the mod back on and zeroed the rifle again. she's sticking subs in nice tight groups at 60 yards as good as before idiot here dropped her, well chuffed al tell you. I don't suggest you try this but its what i did with
  13. Super X in my BRNO, nice and accurate to the brain box.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPdh_nPjF8g Try this.
  15. Sorry link doesn't work, i'm not bad at the tinkering with guns bit but sh!t at the technology side of stuff. I'll have another go. Chris.
  16. Yeah perhaps, I reckon the've overdone it but if it shoots well fare dues.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPdh_nPjF8g This guys does a good job of explaining how its done. The assembly of the on his other vid is cock on too with the all important correct greasing of the parts prior to the assembly. I use Bisley gun grease and it works great with no dieseling at all. Hope this helps. Atb Chris.
  17. No it doesn't help with power or accuracy, i'm going to post a vid from youtube that shows how to take apart and assemble the rifle. Take no time atal and only requires the minimum of tools. You must find out first if its sub 12ft/lbs so to avoid injury when removing the mainspring. Al go and find the vid now. Atb Chris.
  18. The 80s chopped as its shorter than the K model. I've put up my for sale .22 full length (prefer my hw80k) which although is the shorter model is about 3 times the length of the one in your pics. Does it group well at 30 yards? If so no worries there. Atb Chris.
  19. In my limited experience it definatly makes a big difference in the zero of my .243 fitted with a T8 mod. Cock on with mod and a mile out once removed. If i store the rifle vertical with the mod on, some products of burnt powder drop into the cleaned barrel so i always take of the mod when the rifles in storage then attatch prior to hunting, which incidently doesn't alter the zero. Hope this helps. Atb Chris.
  20. Happy Newyear folks, This rifle has been completely overhauled by myself about a month ago, its running at just over 11.5 ft/lbs and shoots very accurately with either H&N FTTs or RWS superdomes. The internals have been cleaned and the piston is polished. A new Weihrauch mainspring added. Steel piston liner fitted. Bisley gun greese applied to all parts as per manufacturers recomendations. A lovely smooth gun to shoot with no dieseling. Nice smooth cocking action with no play on the barrel, tensioned properly with both shims cleaned and lubed before reassembly. Shoots better than a
  21. My Lads and I were out foxing the other night, we sat silently in the motor with my youngest using the fox caller. Out of the blue a Roe doe and her 2 young uns ran right up to the motor then stood watching us for a good minute before the breeze shifted slightly and they got our scent. They ran off top speed and that was that. Wish it had been during the day. It was great to watch them though. CW.
  22. Bushnell legend 5-15x40. Its great in low light and has a thick enough milldot reticle that stand out well at night. I've been using one on my rimmy for almost a year and shots loads of rabbits and crows with great effect to about 60 yards day and night. CW
