Excelent reply i think weve just got abit carried away with this new permission, weve had good bags in the past (as my previous posts show) weve been overlooking a few of the basics, the last session brought us back down to earth, time to get to grips with our new bits of kit Cheers simon

Now now archie, thats abit strong lol i know he means well, but could work on his people skills haha Cheers moxy, weve been up without the guns, sat and watched all day, worked a few spots out. We always use range markers aswell suppose its getting the basics perfected really eh, been shooting since i was 6 so everything you said makes sense, thanks

The farmer wants a job doing mate, i have my sgc and could take large numbers with that, over ferrets but id prefer using the rifles, Just wanting to see how other people would approach the permission, see what theyd do different to us really.

in the right hands id say yes.............i never said having good rifles would guarentee any large bags, but surely its better than having shite?? otherwise we'd all be using $49 B2's....... Sensible replies please, i havent asked for sarky comments, im offering a day out doin something we all love, regretting it already

Thats just according to the previous owner, bill aka "sweeney" is sending me his chrono up in a few days, so if it is that high, ill get it tweaked down, doesnt really help with my question, as i dont see how the power refers to anything ive asked...............

Me and smoggyadam have got the permissions, got two of the best rifles and scopes on the market and weve got the enthusiasm, but due to our last (abortion of a hunt) we want to see how other people would shoot our permissions, so this is an invite for a day of teaching and learning, we also want to know and see how you lads would tackle the "flighty" rabbits on our newest permission, apply below if interested, we do take a few rabbits but we see and miss alot more than we shoot, on the range theres not many that would show us up, but when it comes to "quarry" in our sights we seem to lack some

Would these work for hunting?? moneys abit tight after buying the air ranger and these are a quarter the price of the bushnell/hawke ones. Just a thought Atb peter

I would encourage all newbies to sit and read this from top to bottom, saves the regulars from answering the same questions everyday you should get detailed basics from this and know what rifle and set up will suit you. Excellent darryl, top bit of info Atb peter

Each to their own i guess but.........mole, i suppose does try, but then he starts answering questions that no body asked, and drags answers from google and not experience, 1000 word answers when 10 words are enough, gets a little bit annoying when everything you see on here has his name and replies posted all over it, even if he knows nothing about the question asked he still posts! if you dont know and have to google it.....just dont answer/comment. Quoting your last sentence, "im sure many of you know trying to get a permission is like getting blood from a stone because of poachers" if you do it surely that will make you a poacher also?? police would turn up and assuming they follow protocal youd be left with the offence of "armed tresspass" and severly damage your chances of and gun licence in the future. DONT RISK IT MATE, imagine how gutted you would be if you got caught and could never get you SGC or FAC Atb peter

i gym it 4 times a week!!!! lol but nothing can prepare you for the ton weight that is the Air Ranger!! haha Bill im gunna give it a day up the range next weekend and if i still dont like it, it will be going the journey................

now then bill, ermmm where do i start, just couldnt get on with it bud, 500cc bottle weighs a ton, constantly fighting gravity to keep the gun raised and steady, dont have access to a chrono so i dont know about power or power consistancy,power curves or sweet spots, big lump of a gun, but its no good looking the part if i cant carry the b*****d thing lol god knows what it weighs with the viper sitting on top lol Atb peter, p.s ill send you a photo in a few mins

The day was a total write off lads, fair enough its the first time ive used the new Air Ranger/MTC Viper set up, but i spent 30 mins zeroing and was doing ok, easily shooting well enough to take rabbits at the ranges i was missing them. Never saw any foxes or signs of them, rabbits were everywhere at dusk and i mean everywhere..............them boooshh.............nothing, suppose there could of been a fox or 2 kicking about but theres no way they were everywhere on the permission, its just to big. And the viper has a massive sunshade on simon Real head scratcher for me yesterday :nea:
