  1. Not a clue, never had it before and never want to see it again. Read loads of information on the Internet, everything from canine herpes to cold pups in the first four days, long story short, I don't think they know either. I bred a good bitch in the hopes of getting another bitch pup and she had one dog, I gave him to a mate, I'm determined to keep a yard of bitches and no dogs. I bred this bitch in the hope of getting my bitch and again got nothing but a dog......life's a bitch. God in his infinite wisdom is determined to keep a dog in my yard, who am I to go against him.
  2. I'll wait until he vaguely resembles a terrier, he may not be staying, puppy fading syndrome surviver, he's one left from eight
  3. I'd put my f@cker up but he's embarrassing, tea cup terrier ?
  4. Had a meniscus tear from kicking over the hills, as much as I tell myself not to do I can't help myself
  5. I never doubted it, just wondered if the myth had travelled the country
  6. Anyone come across the myth and legend of the moles dying on marshmallows ? A few farms I've done have asked and a few private jobs have told me their mates swear by it !
  7. Had them all apart from the Isuzu, the Hilux was by far the best of the bunch, indestructible and decent on fuel, especially the red ? The Navara as well as splitting in half were terrible on fuel, so bad I've got the MPG imprinted on my memory for life, 22.3 ? The L200 I didn't like at all, plastic interior and poor build quality, if you can put up with that you'll get a cheap 4x4 Landrover, had loads but I just didn't fit into them, I had to have the window down and a good jacket on to be comfortable ? apart from that they had a very poor load capacity. A terrier box a
  8. Every single time I get called to do the same they've got scissor traps in the bloody mole Hills ? I've come to expect it
  9. Whatever you buy you'll have to tweak it to get the right length, angle and you'll want good kick plate welding on. It's all about personal preference, without taking a punt at one you'll never know

  11. I once had an electric bill for 14k, every time I thought I'd got on top of it the phone would go dead their end so I'd ring back and have to start all over again. Long story short I told them to f*ck off as according to their paperwork which I'd saved for a few years they owed me £2600........they didn't, but that's what the paperwork said. They (after much objection and many exchanges of colourful language) offered to half the bill to 7k (as a gesture of good will) many more days of much more colourful language and they again offered to half it again as yet another "gesture of good will".
  12. Not as easy as you think, I was going to buy a load months ago but Jesus it's a minefield of bullshit. Coins you don't get taxed on when you cash them in but bars you do, then there's the collectors pieces, so many different routes and only a tiny brain with no experience........it'll end in tears
  13. Apart from experience I'd always trust a youngster, they only know what you've shown them and they've learned no bad habits, they learn to lie with bad handling and poor operator skills ? Glad she did you proud
  14. Heard about it from our mutual friend RH, gutted for you, it's not a nice scenario, unfortunately lost one myself this season
  15. Without physically being there to take in all the available signs like prints, fur on the roof of the tube, scat and so on you'd only be guessing.........these days you'd want move than a guess to risk your liberty
  16. The culls f×cred the terrier game right through our country, you're right about the empty places though, back to the old days where you could drop a dog knowing the humbugs weren't home. The thermal boys have ruined a once great sport, no way you can even hope to compete. The antis have no idea what they've done banning hunting, no fox preservation at all, treated no better than a ?
  17. Has anyone got any pups due or a litter planned ? A mate asked me today if I knew of any
  18. A mate put a good bitch down at the start of the season, it happened last season and he hoped the rest would of sorted it out, sadly it wasn't to be. Best of luck
  19. They can be warm and wet, cold and dry but not wet and cold, saying that I used to dig or bolt upto 70 a year (not season), I wouldn't touch that now. Whether that's through just getting old and lazy or just seeing the danger in being where I'm not wanted or needed or just the damage the rifle does is all up for debate. The way I used to look at it was I'd treat my area like spokes in a wheel, hit every earth in one area before changing areas the next day, sooner or later I'd cut down the possibilities because I'd been to enough or I'd left the stink of dogs on enough places, cutting down
  20. You were either very lucky Steve or you were fortunate enough to have enough game around that she didn't get bored checking empty places
  21. I said "once you've dug a terrier to a rabbit" big difference from a rabbit bolting from a random hole. I've kept working terriers for 39 years, if anyone's known for giving a terrier a chance I'd like to think it's me. I can guarantee that once you've dug a terrier to a rabbit it won't be the last time and I'd personally offer it to a mate or pts. The problem most lads have is they don't know wtf is going on and they're in a huge rush to dig, better to miss one fox through uncertainty and bolt it than ruin a terrier rushing the job
  22. NEVER dig any terrier unless you're 100% sure it's with it's game, once you've dug them to rabbit you might as well pts, it'll only get worse
  23. Deerhound x or ACD ? I must of missed those days and stories
