Moves back on, the old fallers agreed to drop the price by 10k, I felt guilty as sin for asking him to take the knock but it's still only half each. The wifes happy and at least she hasn't got to keep her horses on the shithole where she's at now through another winter.

I'll speak to my solicitor on Monday, residential is low tax, with the holiday it would only be 8k, the mixed use is 26k the VAT if I bought it as a business would be 140k ! I wouldn't mind if everything was done and tidy, it'll take what I've got left in the pot to tidy the place up though.
-
No mate, the VAT would apply with a business sale, it was sold as a equestrian property which is residential, if we beat the stamp duty holiday I would of paid 8k in stamp duty. Because they tried to palm me off with a business contract which would of left me liable for VAT it's gone down to the sure I'm the stamp duty holiday. They agreed over the phone to change it to residential again and they've done everything possible to dodge my solicitor until Friday evening when they came up with the mixed use contact ! So we'll now have to pay 26k instead of 8 !
-
In short no, they've dragged their feet until the last minute and tried to change it to mixed use, according to form there's no stamp duty holiday on that category and I'm now liable for 26k of tax. Monday morning is my last throw of the ?, they can either change it to what they marketed it as (equestrian) or half the tax with me or he can shivering it right where the sun doesn't shine ! I honestly think he's trying to dodge capital gains tax by unloading it as a business

If you've had a laptop or tablet over the last decade chances are you have

Kept up with him on Facebook, he openly said they'd suicide him, he also said he'd put enough out of the way to hang most top politicians in America

You'd of been right about 30 years ago

All gone mate, they were gone straight away, just a matter of where I wanted to send them.
-
Another generation on the ground, one left to send out and that's me done breeding wise for a good few years.
-
Well it's still all up in the air, it turns out that the contract of sale I've signed was a commercial sale contract and it leaves me liable for VAT ! It was being marketed as residential so I've put my solicitor onto it and we're waiting for a new contract. Lifes never straight forward, it seems that everyone wants their pound of flesh, even if I dodge the VAT I'm now going to miss the stamp duty holiday

Much bull in them ?

Out of likes, you're on

Already got 16 lengths of pipe ready to go in, got to have my priorities right

Had pigs before, i ended up giving most of the pork away, I'm up for keeping a few beef cattle and we've done the chicken thing too. If you know who I am you're welcome to come and drink as much brew as you can handle, I swap my bullshit stories of terriers if you tell me all about farming ?

I'm a loner at the best of times, it's beginning to dawn on me I'll need all the help I can get and then some. The wife's got a few horses so in truth thats one of the reasons for the move, the other is it's everyone's dream to escape the rat race and I'm taking my chance. No idea if I want to keep sheep or just rent out the ground, I've got ideas of buying a tractor and doing my own hay too. The reality of making hay is daunting, only now I've come to realise the logistics of it and the equipment id need !

Living there, house is ok but I'll still want it bigger and better, it's built with modern shit brick and has no place on my little Welsh hill. There's a few agricultural steel framed buildings and a couple of the old buildings, one of which I'll probably knock down. I'll spend my first year feeling it out to get an idea of how the yard works first.
-
I've already walked the place, more signs of life on my head ?
-
Well I've just signed on the dotted line to buy a 63 acre small farm myself, looking forward to the government handouts and putting my feet up ? On a serious note I've NO IDEA what I'm doing and I'm shiting myself at the thought of actually earning a living from land with no experience of farming.......and I'm told there's no single farm payments from next year.

No idea, the lad I was with spoke to him on the phone as far as I remember, it wasn't his place but another celebrity types farm. If I was honest I was gutted, I'm more than sure he'd be a good craic to have on the bank, and what a story for the future
-
I was down his way once having a red letter day with the terriers, he wanted to come and watch the dogs do their thing but the lad I was out with wouldn't have him on the bank ! He's something rare these days, someone willing to tell it how it is and stick by what he believes, right or wrong at least he's not another celebrity pushing the queer shit down your throat (pun intended)

It's not about being anti vax, it's about getting both sides of the argument, if you think this or any other government was there to protect you you're a fool

Believing a government that gave pregnant women Thalidomide, told you margarine was better than butter and so on, all while preaching out of the pedophile paradise, that's unbelievable
