  4. if you want cheap scopes, try the J.S Ramsbottom website, i remember they used to sell 3-9x40 bushnell sportsmans for 40 quid! so you might find yourself another absolute bargain on there.
  5. jesus christ! that place must cost you a fortune in pellets! its always nice to see a magpie go down as well, nice one.
  6. i remember reading a post/thread were you was given a ultra by another member on here. is that the ultra that was over the limit ? was it not secondhand before you got it,and not new from the factory. an you go one about always checking that you gun is sub 12. did you even chrono it,thank god i have the use of a skan MK10,F1 and a tarrget-tronics i would be propper pi$ed if they took one of mine. an what was you doing to have the gun checked by the police seems a wee bit strange, did you get it back or did the police destroy it,probably not got it good luck with future SGC/FAC applications
  7. this is a right idea, just the thing to bring some camaraderie back to the site, SP all round, and what an offer Danw!!that to me sounds like the experience of a lifetime, i can almost smell that venison cooking already Not sure what the other half would reckon to a mounted deer head in the house though! the rules seem pretty good and fair to me so far, i love the idea of Help for Heroes somehow benefiting from this as well. nice one guys.
  8. compare the rifle in this photo to the one covered in camo leaf netting stuff in these pics by rabbit smasher, particularly where the silencer joins the barrel and the back of the scope where the battery goes for the I.R. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/204634-some-of-my-pic/
  9. there were a few times i saw people being bollocked for shooting kits, and instances of people telling other people how to shoot their permissions that ended up, to me, seeming a little hostile. that could put a few people off posting, and the lack of input from some of the regulars might have left an opening for all the of twaddle to fill the boards. Just my thoughts, not pointing any fingers. hopefully it'll pick back up. I'll certainly try to do my bit to contribute some decent content now iv'e acquired some permission.
  10. my god im failing at getting these pictures on!! We're allowed to shoot all the land in the background and another small field just off to the left past where you can just make out some veg patches & chicken coops, with potential of another three fields once my mates neighbour has had a word. only had time for a couple of shots each when we got settled which we both missed a!e wind was really starting to pick up, then my mate had to return back under his missis's thumb so off we went. gonna have a better look around next weekend and maybe camp. yet another day where i've been

  12. well, got to my friends yesterday to go to his permission, which is 3 fields with 2 horses in them. he'd just got his synthetic HW97KT back from v-mach and needed to zero and get familiar with his 3-9x40 leupold scopes so we spent most of the day just plinking etc until his groups tightened, and I was hitting golf ball sized targets at 39 large paces with a mil-dot and a quarter hold-over. Now, he had a crazy idea of trying to lamp rabbits with a Maglite! so as it got dark we set about it and you guessed it, FAILED. Miserably. even knowing where the hotspots were, we didn't see a thing. so it

  14. Titan?? does this mean he's capable of fettling falcons too? If anyone knows the answer I wouldn't mind finding out. ha! unfortunately, I messaged whoever it is who is in charge of his facebook page, and apparently, there was a right hoo-haa just before Titan went into liquidation and Falcon took over which resulted in John resigning whilst Titan/ Falcon continued to use his valve designs or something on the new Falcon rifles. cut a long story short, I was told that John won't touch falcons on principle, although he will work on the old titans! I'd love to hear the full story of w
  15. hmm, im off to my mates permish tomorrow, he's just got his synthetic HW97KT back from steve pope & co so i might have some nice pics to chuck in, sounds like a good idea, although someone on ere (can't remember who?) looks a bit of a dab hand at the old photography so this could be some competition!!

  17. have you tried hardy's gunsmiths on eccleshall road in sheffield? he occasionally has some in at the right price, although a lot are around the 400 quid mark. its worth a look though cos his stock turns around quick, theres always some springers in at a good price too.
  18. a good recce of where they land, and try to get there before they do. a crow call might work for you and they're only cheap.
  19. i once read something about sandwell field sports selling their own branded or home-madre version of a 95 that sounded like a 95 but kind of "blueprinted" with all its innards tinkered with. i think it was supposed to be quite a bit more expensive, can anyone confirm this to be true?
