    theres a wood near me that has barb wire from tree to tree all the way through the wood with a ditch surrounding the woo wich has a fence either side and one in the middle i've had a few close calls with the dogs going towards that wood never came across wires in the fields though but the odd pile of barb wire left hidden in the heather and had a dog plough right over it just small nicks but the dog was covered in them worst one was a 2 inch long slice but up here theres 2 or 3 local farmers that are more than happy to shoot a dog on sight

    why dont you try and modify the stock with making a cheek pad from a seperate piece of wood and attach it to your butt if your good with wood or know somebody who is then it shouldnt be too hard to do

    nice one buddy i'm just in with my pup gave him 3 runs and pesonally i think he should of had 2 but he was all over them and gave his all but the rabbits just got through the hedge as he stuck for them then he thought he would bring out the rubber ear and tried fuking off over a fence and hung his self up by the front leg the daft cnut saw four roe on the golf course on the way back and a fox in the football pitch behind my house dog was off the lead and started chase but stopped when i shouted on him he's too young for that more than happy with his perfomance for his age but n

    my first ever lurcher was a saluki greyhound collie and most of her kills at night were when her target ran off the beam i use the method your talking about with the local rabbits cos they are shy as fuk

    hunting in the twilight was the ways of the old poacher/gypsies etc the dogs would run beside the wagons and would often hunt something up on the way i often run my dogs in twilight with no lamp mostly after the lamping i let them hunt up the golf course on the way home without the lamp cos the little amount of rabbits on it are shy but its best you and the dog knows the land well

    i'm not too bothered about the rate on insurance cos it will drop sooner or later but i though it was a case of pass test then liscence is revoked right away and have to do it all again but if i can pass the test and get the insurance and thats me sorted then all the better

    the thing is mate is i have to wait another couple of months because i got banned for being on a mini moto with my boy and the copper was a cnut just out of school and done me with no insurance but you cant get they wee bikes insured there kids toys ffs i was p****d right off when the court banned me for it

    i had a phone call from thurso college today offering me a placement on an estate BUT as i dont have a driving liscence just now and it was nescessary to have one i missed out gutted is not a strong enough word for it so are there any keepers highland or lowland who would take me on ? i have my first interview at the college at the end of april and if i had a placement to go to before the interview then it would guarantee my place at the college if you think you can pm me and i will send a c.v thanks john

    for any pup i get the training starts from day 1 beginning with bonding and calling them over to me by 6 months i normally only expect a good recall, retrieving a dummy and to be almost fully stock broke not always the case though and my pup is about 7 month and only retrieved to me twice and wont look at a dummy but been great with everything else and is jumping stock fence with no barb confidently and just started trying to get him to stay but can only get him to stay untill i walk back about 5/6yards and then he starts following me but generally i only expect the above from th
