I can honestly say you lads in general have got lots to learn about the running and coursing game. You made a mistake , or you were misled and led up the garden path . You were as the saying goes "sold a pup" now dry your tears wipe your mouth and file it in lessons learnt. You were turned for a few hundred quid lifes like that, plenty of so called top dog men have been rolled for a lot more. The coursing game has more than its fair share of chancers and the way it is now there is more crap around than good stock. Look at this raffling dogs and pups. Men that need to brag about their couser,s in today,s conditions are basically full of bull shit. 3 up 3 down at 15 months forgetting to mention its on the lamp. Plenty of old time coursing lads are tending to run the same dogs on for 4/5 seasons as the games f****d at the minute and the amount of young stock being bred from the son of the son of or the Grandaughter of is amazing mediocre stock being sold or raffled for top dollar. Sorry for the genuine younger lads trying to get out and do it right its hard work and the clowns in the circus don,t help matters.

If my salukis are on game they are not coming back till its caught or lost simple as that , Training is well and good but trying to dominate the hunting instinct in a good dog is another story.

Most bones that break when they repair the actual site of the break regrows stronger than the original bone and is slightly thicker than the older bone. The only concern is with the plate, have you asked the Vet some times for some reason the bone may not knit properly usually the plate is left as its to much hassle to re-operate to remove it. If she is happy to race around then crack (no pun intended) on it should be all systems go ATB

So you are basically stating neither you nor your muckers have ever encountered a problem with the Saluki,s in the field,behave. I have spent most of my life with Salukis I dont have a problem with them and have straightened many pures out that have been f****d up by so called dog men. If you cant cut it with them then dont get one simple really. Right!! Its strange the lads I run Salukis with and my own dogs never give problems with recall or returning after a run this is not by luck or by accident ,many folk can keep lurchers not all folk have the skill or temperament to keep salukis.

To much protien is no good for working pures or heavily saturated x,s a higher percentage of carbs usually gets good results balanced with chicken , fish oil etc.

Load of cobblers most working salukis in COOare on basic meagre rations so excess weight wouldnt be a problem unless its the Arab wizz kids , as for strengthening any thing restricting blood flow would have the opposite effect

I am not sure only a DNA test would show it but I would certainly question the brindle in their lines. We know that greyhounds /whippets, a few Danes and bull breeds seem to carry the brindle gene yet dogs like geman shepherd doberman, poodle etc dont I have not seen a brindle amongst these breeds .Suggesting that brindle is from some cross breeding in certain lines especially in sight hounds /running breeds.when bridle mutation does appear. .

Brindle is not a basic colour found in the saluki lines through history wr have never had any brindle in our stock.. The brindle that is seen is thought to be in crosses with Caravan hounds usually on the Silk Route of Marco Polo this and during British Raj times lots of Military Officers brought greyhounds from UK . The servants who used to look after the stock used to take the odd sly lining to local dogs and brindle became more common in crosses. They were from a few places if I remember correctly, all saluqis to him Kholie is Persian for Gypsy, Sir T was a diplomat he spent the majority of his time in the Middle East in Iran and Iraq. He was gifted a couple of pures which he brought back to UK. He was right into coursing and hunting .
