    As far as terriers and lurchers go the westmeath hunt show was way ahead of ballinlough for the standard of working dogs on show and as for the entrance fee its a joke 15euro for what the stalls were shit,i dont go to many but wont be goin to ballinlough again definitly will the WMHS.

    There are men who have bred and kept a line of dogs for 40..50years who most did'nt know they even kept dogs.They kept them among there own close diggin friends.Not saying they were better than the well known studs or broods but they were probably as good.Iknow one man who had a line off red lakey type terriers long before lakelands were heard off and that was maybe 50 year ago.I remember my father bringing me on a dig,i was about 10 at the time and that was the first time i seen them dogs and was very impressed with them.As years passed i moved away and he died,what became of his terriers i d

    Have to agree with you.Camera's camcorders even mobile phones should be left at home,too easy for the wrong person to make a mountain out off a mole hill.Ive gone through a lot of dogs down through the years,no pics just memorys even when my dogs got stolen i had'nt one pic of them to put up searching for them.

    Thats a real gud lookin bitch proper lookin worker,had 1 like her long time ago.She spent 3 days to ground on game pre collar days and we finally got her with bottom jaw broke and blind in 1 eye she was a mess.She never went to them again but was a demon on fox as a few here on this know me and will agree.I tried to breed from her and put her back to her son also a top dog,but she died on the day she was due pups,Proper workin lakelands are not easy found anymore,too much show shit been bred.

    Bogger if you thinkin of getten 1,try a pup.I had trackers for years but never bought in an adult always pups.I reared them in a run bout 100yrds long by 30yrds wide and exercised the terriers in the field along side the hounds so the ghounds grew up with them and i often let the pups out with the terriers and never had a prob.When they grew to adulthood they wud'nt look at the terriers i think its like any other breed eg.DEERHOUND,SALUKI all in the way there reared.JMO

    My heaviest bitchs racing weight was 56lb dog 74lb and he was no small dog .Would you not agree that a smaller more versatile hound would turn better and faster than say a 90lb dog on hare ,deer,fox whatever i think they would.

    Most courseing bitchs are maybe 90lb weight where as a tracker averages out at 50 t0 60lb in weight.Id amagine the tracker would produce a more raceier animal whatever the x.As for hunting ability ive kept open class trackers that were as good as any courseing ghound while hunting 1 was a demon to fox,he hated them.He was a son off DROOPYS VIERRA ran 98 times then retired to hunt for 3 years before pts
