  1. No experience but would love to try one of those on coyotes and fox.
  2. Minkenry, How many of the kits do you think will turn out, of the ones you keep? With the variation you see in mink you have to assume some not making the cut.
  3. Guys new to digging and been on a few with a friend. Got my pup 9 weeks old. So while she grows lets see what y'all carry to the dig. Homemade and modified or straight from the store. Just want a complete kit to head out when the time comes. Not many diggers here so advice is appreciated. My friend is 2 hours away and I wanted some other opinions too.
  4. I wanted to add one thing to this thread and bring it back up. Based on the statement above, "The breeds were created by men who knew the game and knew what they wanted and to most of us that holds true today ". Is the game indeed the same as it was when the vision was established? I know for the US things have changed and am pretty sure things across the pond did too. So are the original visions still valid based on what is legal or not. I think this is an interesting topic. Just wanted others take on it.
  5. Coons aren't aggressive toward people or dogs unless they get rabid but they will put up quite a fight when cornered or run down and are forced to. My FIL had one try and drown his GSP during a persuit through water. Old boar climbed right on its head and tried to drown it. He (FIL) went in and had to separate them to save the GSP.
  6. Those are some nice size coons you got there. Looks like the fur is getting good most of the ones I am seeing aren't in prime fur yet, but 25 is big at least for my area. Nice job. When my pup gets old enough this is gonna be her main winter work.
  7. Thanks for the replies. I will explain my dilema a little. I want the ferret to work in conjunction with a Jagd for barn cleaning and also rabbit bolting. The Jagd is only 6 weeks now and not away from the litter yet and the ferret would be older. So does this seem possible? Again I am asking not saying this will happen, just looking for advice from those more experienced in ferreting. I know Jagd are agressive but they are there to finish the rats not get stuck trying to get them. Let me know your thoughts. Also working ferrets are not real prevalent in the US, so any advice on traits
  8. New here and wondering what to look for in a game ferret, just learning about ferreting and looking for advice.
