    nice mate.today im going to put a huge bored down with some mixed corn under it where i know some rats are.iv found a HUGE rat set in a long ditch.im gunna rag off the brambles that cover it and feret it tomorrow.i just usually mooch about with dogs lookin for rat sets.dont have much look usually but iv hit the jackpot for tomorrow. keep tryin pal sam

    i dont know anything about larsen traps.but say if you purchased one or made one for the first time and wanted to successfully get something in it.how would you get the first call bird? do you simply have to wait until one is lured to bait? dont know much about this sort of thing. sambo

    ok lads after you have given me a lecture on "changing rooms" and "what to/ what not to" have in the house could you help me out? yeah i figured the mesh gaps were too wide so iv covered the trap in mesh with alot smaller gaps.that should help. sometimes i cant belive the people on this site. im askin for help off of people who know a lot more than me .( because im a total amateur) and i get people takin the piss out of my fu*in house.. sambo

    iv decided to set the trap tomorrow.got the place sorted.got the bait sorted. but will this trap do??? its sensative as fu*k though iv only set it 3 times for rats with no luck? sorry for the shit pics they were taken on a phone.the traps door consists of two pieces of mesh one vertical at the front and another horizontal just behind it.you push the first door towards the second one and then push the combined doors upwards and then lodge them under a hook.the hook conects to a long bar ( made from yet again mesh) which leads to the little flap of mesh which pulls up.the rat,squirel,stoat or

    i used to keep a few finches and diamond doves in my garden shed and i was using the same mesh.walked in one day and one was stuck just like that at the pelvis .got one of the dogs to pull him out lol(he was still alive) sam

    cheers mate got your pm my computer has got flu at the moment it turns itself on and off when it feels like it so i am struglling to reply to anything please bear with me having it fixed later on in the week there will still be plenty of rats finally this could be my chance... lmao for the lads who go on the terrier forums you will know what i mean...how many posts have i made lol.

    thanks for this info mate.and yeah ill keep posting what happens lol.iv suddenly got this big interest in trying to catch one as yesterday one of my terriers ran one into a rat hole and tried digging to him.i could hear him spitting but he soon bolted and escaped. (really fast little bugger) (i posted this on the terrier section).the little guy really fascinated me .id only release one if i caught one but its a little challenge i suppose. cheers pal.. sam

    ok.i fancy trying to catch a stoat in a cage trap.no apparent reason (just something to do) lol.where do i start? i know theres already posts on this topic but cant seem to find info on where to put the trap? the bait? and what about the measurements of the mesh squares? iv heard stoats and weasels can squeeze into tiny places? any help would be great. sam
