    Nip in to change seeds, veg water then back out again. Leave em to it. Insulation needs covering but i'll get to it in the future it's only cosmetic. Saw a pair of bullies and goldies feedin each other already so fingers crossed. Would have had two pair native bullies and a pair sib bullies but lost a bully hen to going light a few week ago, was gutted. Got some baycox in the pantry now and theyre on it first two days of every month to keep it bay so hopefully no more issues.     Thought I'd share a few pics of my little bird set up.This year will be first year with the British finches as I failed with a pair of goldies last season. I have Pair Greenfinch Pair Chaffinch Pair Redpoll 2 x Native Goldfinch pair Pair Sib Bullfinch Pair native Bullfinch Couple of pair canaries for putting eggs under. Wish me luck. Atb Sam

    Are your goldies still squabling with each other. I've got two pair in decent size cages and i've put a divider in to let them together few hour a day but still squabling when I let them in to each other.

    Because the temperature is already picking up even though it's only feb I'm toyin with the idea of increasing the light in the shed early to see if they go down earlier than they naturally would. In my insulated shed the temp is around 15 degrees. Only thing that could knacker it up is if we have a freak cold spell. Never know what the weather is gunna do in the UK do ya. Sam

    I have a spare bully cock 23 bird if someone wants him for a hen for the up coming season. Had two pair but lost a hen so he's on his todd. He had his ring on but developed a large cyst on his leg so i had to chop his ring off with nail clippers to avoid irritation which maybe caused it and theres still a bit on his leg but he's healthy as anything other than that piping away for a hen. He's bright and sharp. I'd swap him for any other britsh finch cock. Cheers Sam

    I'll give the thing that I originally posted a go as it seems to be a medication specifically for finches with respiratory problems. The bird is eating and drinking fine but seems a bit puffed up and not as sharp as the other bullies. I thought it might have been coccidiosis (going light) or Trichomoniasis (fat finch disease) but the bird has been treated for both and has kind of perked up but still isn't as it should be as when it is perched it seems to be breathing heavy so maybe it's the 'gapes' as this seems to be common in Bullfinches.     Think I've got a Bully with the gapes, sat panting on the perch and seems a bit off. I've found an old post on here where someone suggested Tylan which is a respiratory medication used for racing pigeons. Seems difficult to get a hold of as it's only available on a prescription. Anyone tried this? Says it's for respiratory problems in cage birds. Anyone know if it would do the trick? Thanks Sam
